Good afternoon to our Knights families, friends, and beautiful community! 💚💛🤍

WHEW! Let’s talk about our SIX TEAMS and what they brought to that floor at STATES! 🏆

To our D8 CHEER—FIRST PLACE out of 13 teams! You babies DID THAT! You left it on the mat, hit ZERO, and still had love left to pour into your fellow D8 dancers. You encouraged them, supported them, and showed everyone what sportsmanship looks like. We are extremely proud of you! To the coaches who keep it together through the easy, the hard, and everything in between: you are seen. The time, patience, and love you pour into these babies do not go unnoticed.

To our D12 CHEER, although your journey to Nationals ended, that does not define who you are as a team or erase everything you accomplished. Stand firm and stand tall in what you HAVE accomplished. Despite the tears and disappointment, when you look in that mirror, hold your head HIGH. That is exactly how we see you. We are proud of you, we believe in you, and your growth does not end here. To your coaches, thank you for loving and guiding these girls through the celebrations AND the hard moments.

To our D16 CHEER, let’s talk about the GRIT. The sore bodies, the exhaustion, the pressure of balancing school, life, and this sport—and yet you girls kept showing up. Timing may not have been on our side, but let’s recognize what you DID do: you improved your score, surprised yourselves, and pushed through the challenges in front of you. Give yourselves your flowers! To the coaches who keep these girls going, we see, acknowledge, and value you as coaches, as people, and as an important part of this organization.

To our D8 DANCE… WOW. WOW. WOW! We were prepared to be entertained, but we were NOT prepared for THAT PERFORMANCE! You kept the crowd smiling while smiling yourselves. You were focused, you were ready, and your scores reflected the work you put in. You earned your place, babies! To the coaches who show up and figure it out, who pour in, laugh with them, know when to protect, and know when to push: we see you, and we appreciate you!

To our D12 DANCE—FIRST PLACE! You DID THAT! The energy, the WAR, the precision, the “Knuck If You Buck” in you—we saw ALL OF IT! You had our attention and that stage BUMPING! You earned every score, every smile, every congratulations, and that TROPHY! To your coaches, thank you for helping turn that fire into a performance we will never forget!

To our D16 DANCE—we’re TWO FOR TWO with SECOND PLACE! And we are proud of that! You adjusted on the fly and performed to music that was not the version you had been practicing with. From costume malfunctions to one hurdle after another, you kept going. You moved with grace and intention, and you exceeded my expectations. You ladies carry so much on your shoulders and in your hearts, and you still show up for yourselves and each other. To your coaches, thank you for continuing to pour into these girls and helping them find their way through every challenge.

To ALL of our athletes: we celebrate your placements, your progress, your courage, and the way you keep showing up.

To ALL of our coaches: your work reaches far beyond a routine. Thank you for every adjustment, every pep talk, every moment of patience, and every bit of yourselves you give.

And to our beautiful VILLAGE: thank you for showing up, cheering loud, and loving these babies through it all!

There’s something about being a KNIGHT. There’s something about who we are. There’s something about that GREEN, GOLD, AND WHITE! 💚💛🤍

We are proud of EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU! 🏆

Good day, Waterbury Knights families, athletes, and members of our community.

This is Nashia Lewis, President of the Waterbury Knights. Let me be extremely clear: we choose not to entertain rumors, gossip, or irresponsible statements about our organization.

Our goal remains to provide a positive, protected environment where our athletes can grow academically, develop social and emotional skills, and build the confidence, discipline, and life skills they need for adulthood.

The Waterbury Knights remains a proud, strong organization. Rebuilding requires change, and that change began from within. Some individuals chose to leave, and we wish them well. We hold no ill will toward anyone who has been part of this organization, past or present.

It is disappointing to see adults use messages or social media to diminish a youth organization and the work being done for its athletes. Our children deserve adults who model respect, accountability, and constructive communication.

Despite challenges and shortcomings, we continue to grow, improve, and move forward. We remain available for genuine concerns involving our current athletes and families. We will not participate in arguments, personal attacks, or exchanges rooted in gossip.

Our energy will remain focused on the young people we serve and the community we are building together.

May you have the day you choose to have. We are choosing a peaceful, productive one.

💚💛🤍 WATERBURY KNIGHTS — A HISTORICAL DAY IN KNIGHTS HISTORY! 💚💛🤍

Since 1968, the tradition continues!

We would like to extend a HUGE congratulations to our AMAZING athletes, coaches, and supporting staff!

To say this year has been challenging would be an understatement. Since 1968, the Waterbury Knights have been a part of something bigger than sports. And while it’s no secret that football was unfortunately not part of this year’s journey due to unforeseen circumstances, that’s neither here nor there.

Because what DID happen this year deserves to be celebrated!

Our coaches showed up. Our girls showed OUT. And most importantly, NOBODY GAVE UP!

Perseverance isn’t just something we preach. It’s something these young ladies and their coaches demonstrated through every challenge, every setback, every tear, every long practice, and every moment when giving up could have been the easier choice.

Now, let’s give some flowers where flowers are DUE! 💐

💚 Coach Quaya! Girl, you’ve been doing this for how long now? Because I done lost count! But one thing about you, you’ve got that BUG! That passion, that fire, that undeniable love for cheerleading! We see the dedication you pour into these girls, and we see the supporting staff standing right alongside you. Your commitment does not go unnoticed!

💛 Coach Josh! Taking on the role of Head Coach this year and leading our 12U Cheer Team to FIRST PLACE! What an accomplishment! You stepped into that responsibility, showed up for your athletes, and helped bring home a victory worth celebrating!

💚 Coach Kendria! HISTORY WAS MADE! For the FIRST TIME, our 16U Cheer Team placed FIRST! Do you understand what that means?! What a milestone for our program! Your leadership, dedication, and commitment helped these girls accomplish something that will forever be part of Knights history!

💛 Coach Nae! ANOTHER FIRST FOR THE BOOKS! Our very first D8 Hip-Hop Team took FIRST PLACE! These babies came out, showed out, and made their mark! What an incredible accomplishment for our youngest dancers!

💚 Our 12U Hip-Hop Team — FIRST PLACE! These young ladies brought their energy, their determination, and their talent to that floor and made it happen!

💛 Our 16U Dance Team — SECOND PLACE! And let me tell you something, that placement comes with a STORY! A story of resilience, determination, teamwork, and young ladies who refused to let their circumstances determine their capabilities. You earned every bit of those flowers!

BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND SOMETHING!

It’s NEVER been about where we place.

It’s about the story behind HOW WE GOT THERE!

It’s about the sacrifices nobody saw. The conversations nobody heard. The obstacles nobody knew existed. The coaches who kept pouring from their cups. The athletes who kept showing up even when things weren’t easy. The parents and families who continued believing in something bigger than a trophy.

It’s about the girls who discovered their strength, the coaches who rediscovered their purpose, and a program that refused to allow one difficult season to define its legacy.

I could go on and on, because there is SO MUCH more to this story.

But today, we are giving our flowers. We are celebrating our HISTORY. We are celebrating our FIRSTS. We are celebrating every athlete, every coach, and every person who helped make this possible.

1968 wasn’t just the beginning of an organization. It was the beginning of a LEGACY.

And here we are, 58 years later, STILL SHOWING UP, STILL SHOWING OUT, AND STILL KEEPING THE KNIGHTS TRADITION ALIVE!

To our amazing girls and coaches, CONGRATULATIONS! You deserve this moment. You deserve your flowers. And most importantly, you deserve to know that your hard work, your love, and your perseverance have not gone unnoticed.
