Packed with more than just clothes. ❤️

Recently, we packed this backpack for a little boy in care. Along with clothing, new underwear, and socks, we tucked in a few surprises to brighten his day—sticker packs, crayons, books, suckers, and a giant Mickey Mouse to hug.

Sometimes it’s the practical essentials. Sometimes it’s the little extras that remind a child they are seen and cared for.

If you’re caring for a child through foster care, kinship care, guardianship, or reunification, know that the Foster Landing Resource Closet is here to help. Visit our website to see everything we offer, learn about our walk-in hours, and discover ways we can come alongside your family.

And for those who want to come alongside children and families in our community, you’ll also find ways to volunteer, donate, and get involved. The link is in the comments below. 🤍

☀️🍋 What a summer it has been already.

Over the past couple of months, we’ve watched kids host lemonade stands, churches partner with us through VBS, neighbors come together, and our community find ways to support local children and families navigating foster and kinship care.

One of our biggest hopes at Foster Landing is that everyone can find a way to love and support foster families. Whether that’s hosting a lemonade stand, organizing a donation drive, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, we’re working to create opportunities for our community to be part of the story. This summer, we’ve had the joy of watching that happen.

Thank you to everyone who has hosted a Summer Stand, partnered with us through VBS, donated, volunteered, or encouraged others to get involved. Your generosity is making a difference for local children and the families caring for them.

There’s still time to join in! If you’ve been thinking about hosting a lemonade stand, bake sale, popsicle stand, or another fundraiser, we’d love to help. We provide a free Summer Stands Host Kit to help you get started.

Learn more and sign up at the link in the comments. We’d love to see what the rest of the summer brings! 💛🍋

Two families. Two different stories. One community standing beside them.

Recently, a couple of these bags went to a kinship grandmother who unexpectedly opened her home to her young granddaughter. Like so many unexpected placements, there wasn’t time to have everything ready. We were able to provide a toddler bed and mattress, along with bedding, a few toys and books, and a stuffed animal to help welcome this little girl into her new space.

The other bag went out to one of our local foster families. The sweet little boy placed in their home was so tiny when he first arrived, and now he’s a chunky, growing little guy who keeps moving into the next clothing size. What a privilege it is to continue walking alongside foster families, helping meet changing needs as children grow.

Foster care isn’t just one moment. It’s the first night, the first month, and sometimes the first year and beyond.

If you’re caring for a child through foster care, kinship care, guardianship, or reunification, we hope you’ll think of Foster Landing. Whether a child arrived yesterday or has been with you for months, we’re here to walk alongside you. Don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d love to help.

We’re honored to share that Foster Landing has been awarded a $4,275 community grant from Perdue Farms to help provide essential items for children and families involved in foster care.

We’re also grateful to be featured in Perdue Farms’ community newsletter, where they shared a little about Foster Landing, why we exist, and the impact this grant will have on local children and caregivers.

Thank you, Perdue Farms, for believing in this mission. And thank you to every volunteer, donor, church, business, and supporter who has helped make Foster Landing what it is today. This truly is a community effort. 🤍
