Please think twice about what you read on facebook.
There have been postings circulated by 2 Washington County rescue groups trying to smear one of our volunteers (and of course, Fix 'Ur Cat) for saving 3 kittens - umbilical cords still attached and low body temperature - from a drainage ditch inside the Meadows Racetrack.
Those kittens are still alive, and being bottle fed every 2 to 3 hours. A female was finally trapped 3 days later. Today we spayed her. She did not have milk or mammary development, but her uterus showed she had recently given birth.

It would be awesome if everything in the cat world worked perfectly, but sometimes you do your best. Thank God there are people like Kelly out there who take action and do their best to help in every and any way to help stray and abused cats. I think the kitty also did her best - whether she was chased off by racing noise, too young, or just plain worn out - it is hard to tell.

My cell phone number is 724-503-8523. If you would like to discuss this situation or have any questions about Fix 'Ur Cat I would be more than happy to talk to you. Michelle

There is a cat stuck in a tree on Fayette St. in Washington. The owners have been trying to get him to come down for about 24 hours - still no luck. They have a trap set at the base of the tree, and a fairly high ladder but not enough to get him down. Does anyone have a bucket truck or any suggestions on how to get this scared boy down? You can contact Kelly 724-994-8222 directly for details.

Thank you to everyone who made our Fiesta Bingo on Sunday such a success. We had delicious food provided by Smoke This, wonderful bake goods, fantastic volunteers, and great supporters!

Several people suggested we do a summer "Beach Bingo". After a beer and a couple days to recuperate I wondered what you thought? Please let me know if summer bingo is a good idea. Will people want to play, etc? Would love to hear from you at [email protected].

Once again, thank you for your support!

Lots of good news this week!
The special cat that was found in Canonsburg has been reunited with its' owner!
Poppy, the little Pom that came into our lives has been rehomed! Greg is taking her today for a 2 week trial. She will love a full time daddy!
Last but not least, Cheddar also went to his forever home this week. He is a little shy, but has the perfect new mommy to get him comfortable in his new surroundings.
Thank you to everyone for caring about these animals and the many homeless and needy cats (and dogs) that need good, loving homes.

This little dog will be looking for a permanent loving home soon. "Poppy" is a spayed female Pomeranian, who is about 9 years old. Her mom had to go to a nursing home, and the family did not want her. Poppy had lots of fleas - thank you to Roxanne at Creative Canine Cuts for getting her cleaned up and shaved! Poppy is being treated for lyme disease, and will visit the vet for a dental evaluation next week.

Poppy is very sweet, and appears to be house trained. Because of her size, she is probably best in a home with adults or older children.

If you would like to meet Poppy or discuss adoption, please call Michelle 724-503-8523. She is a sweetie!

Due to one of our current vets being transferred out of State,
Fix 'Ur Cat is looking for a part time licensed veterinarian - 1 to 2 times per week - to work with our wellness group. No evenings or weekends. Perfect for a retired vet, or a working vet who would like to pick up an extra day working with our nonprofit. Without our wellness clinic, many of our clients would not be able to afford basic care and wellness for their cats. If you would like to discuss please call Michelle at 724-503-8523. You can make a difference in your community!
