It was an honor and privilege to be at the grand opening of the New AMVETS National Headquarters.

Our department is finish on the Hill with 33 stops. 20 appointments and 13 drop off. The time on the Hill might be over, the work is not. In fact it just started. They have our list and know what we want. Now we need you to call and get you congressional leaders to sign onto these bills and your Senators. Please join us and help make a difference. We need every Son’s, Post, Auxiliary and JR members voice to be heard. Tougher we can make a difference.

Day 2 of going to DC to meet the Senators. We will meet with our 2 and 14 others.

Day 1 of DC has come to an end with us visiting all 17 congressional visits in the book. My friends we have work to do. Please call your representatives in DC. Both sides need to get on board with our bills. We told them you all would be calling. So let’s make there phone ring off the hook.

Today we start our 20th year of going to DC to advocate for Veterans benefits and rights. Looking forward towards these 2 days. Please help support by going to nationalsonsofamvets.org go to our Law and open it up and call your congressional and senators to get them to support these bills.

40 years ago today we were chartered. It been amazing to see things we have accomplished. 2 past national commanders, 5 state commanders. 39 years of visiting the VA on valentine’s Day. Our history is rich and our future is bright and looking forward to see what happens.

For everyone that hadn’t heard Sons PDC Joe Stopyra had been admitted to the hospital over the weekend and yesterday had 3 stents placed during a heart catheterization. He is home as of now resting. We thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time.

This coming Saturday on January 3rd is the Sons state SEC meeting. The commander has asked if you have a lite blue shirt and a cover please wear them. If you don’t please come and take part any ways.
