🐾🇺🇸 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: OCTOBER THERAPY DOG VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH! ❤️🏆

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS, CELENA GUMP! 🎉
At VetPets of Southwestern Pennsylvania, we often say that our therapy dogs change lives. But behind every incredible therapy dog is a compassionate volunteer who chooses to give something more valuable than money.
Their time. Their heart. Their commitment to others.

This October, we are incredibly proud to recognize Celena Gump as our Therapy Dog Volunteer of the Month! 🐕❤️

Celena represents the very heart of what VetPets stands for. Her willingness to serve, her compassion for others, and her dedication to our mission help remind us that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference.

🇺🇸 THREE WAYS CELENA IS HELPING CHANGE AND SAVE LIVES WITH VETPETS:

🐾 1. BRINGING HOPE TO THOSE FACING THEIR DARKEST MOMENTS

Through therapy dog volunteerism, Celena helps create opportunities for comfort, connection, and emotional support for veterans, first responders, and community members experiencing stress, trauma, grief, or isolation.

Sometimes a friendly dog, a compassionate smile, and someone willing to listen can become the first step toward healing.

❤️ 2. HELPING BREAK THE CYCLE OF ISOLATION

For someone struggling emotionally, feeling forgotten can be one of life's greatest challenges.
Celena's commitment to showing up helps strengthen the human connections that remind people they matter. Through the VetPets mission, she helps create welcoming environments where individuals can feel supported, valued, and less alone.

Because sometimes, saving a life begins by simply showing someone they are worth showing up for.

🇺🇸 3. BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY THROUGH SERVICE

By giving her time and energy to therapy dog outreach, Celena helps VetPets expand its ability to support those who have served our country, protected our communities, and cared for others.
Her volunteer spirit strengthens our programs, inspires others to get involved, and helps us build a community where compassion is more than a word.

It's an action.
🌟 CELENA, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!
You may never fully know how many lives your kindness will touch.

You may never hear every story of someone who found comfort because you showed up.
And you may never realize just how much your willingness to volunteer means to a person who needed hope that day.

But we see you.

We appreciate you.

And we are proud to have you as part of the VetPets family.

The dogs may get the attention, but volunteers like you give our mission its heartbeat. ❤️🐾

Please join us in congratulating CELENA GUMP, OUR OCTOBER 2026 THERAPY DOG VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH! 🎉👏

🐾🇺🇸 TEAM WH***EY: FROM BEING COUNTED OUT TO BEING BUILT DIFFERENT! ❤️🔥

Sometimes the greatest success stories aren't about the dogs who get everything right the first time. They're about the ones who just needed someone to believe they could.

And let me tell you something about TEAM WH***EY.

When Wh***ey first came to VetPets of Southwestern Pennsylvania, things weren't exactly easy.

She was unsure of herself.
She wasn’t engaged with her owner.
And quite frankly, there were days when she was more interested in disrupting class than participating in it! 😂🐕

There were challenges. There were distractions. There were moments when progress seemed miles away.

And I'm sure there were times when people wondered whether Wh***ey would ever develop the confidence, focus, and discipline needed for assistance dog work.

But here's something we've learned at VetPets:

❤️ Just because a dog isn't ready today doesn't mean that dog isn't capable of becoming something extraordinary tomorrow.

We didn't count Wh***ey out.
We gave her time.
We gave her overlapping support.
We gave her opportunities.
We gave her structure, patience, and a chance to grow.

And then something started to happen.

Through intense drop-off training sessions THREE TIMES PER WEEK, our co-founder continued working on her confidence, emotional stability, obedience, environmental awareness, and ability to remain focused around distractions.
Week after week.

Session after session.
Little victories began replacing difficult moments.

Fear started giving way to confidence.

Distractions started becoming opportunities to learn.

And somewhere along the way...

🔥 WH***EY STARTED BECOMING BUILT DIFFERENT! 🔥

🇺🇸🐾 YESTERDAY, TEAM WH***EY SCORED AN ASTOUNDING 85% ON THEIR PUBLIC ACCESS TEST! 🎉👏

Let that sink in.
The same dog who once struggled to remain focused during class demonstrated enough progress to earn an 85% during a challenging multiple-environment public access evaluation!

Was it a passing score?
Not yet. Our standard is 90% as a baseline.

Does Wh***ey still need more time to develop?
Absolutely.

Will this team need many more training sessions to build consistency, reliability, and confidence?
Without question.

But are we proud of this team? YOU BET YOUR ASS WE ARE! ❤️

Because that 85% represents something far greater than a number.

It represents a dog and handler who wasn't given up on.

A team who continued believing in a person that walked through our doors.

Trainers who refused to rush the process.
And a team that was given the time and opportunity to become better than they were yesterday.

🎯 WHAT'S NEXT FOR TEAM WH***EY?
🐾 Continuing structured training to strengthen confidence and emotional stability.

🐾 Improving consistency around people, dogs, food, noises, and other distractions.

🐾 Strengthening handler communication and dependable obedience.

🐾 Developing the reliability neutrality around all dogs, people, places and things.

🐾 Preparing for future public access evaluations and that important 90% milestone.

❤️ BUT HERE'S WHAT I REALLY WANT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND.

Sometimes we become so focused on results that we forget what helping people is supposed to feel like.

It has always felt good to help good people.

To give someone an opportunity.

To believe in their potential.

To stand beside them when the journey gets difficult.

To see something in a team that others might have overlooked.

And let me tell you, the people behind Team Wh***ey are as good as they get.

🐾❤️ CONGRATULATIONS, TEAM WH***EY

🐾🇺🇸 Veteran TEAM EDEN: 85% ON THE TEST, 100% DETERMINATION TO KEEP MOVING FORWARD! ❤️

Sometimes the greatest victories aren't about crossing the finish line. They're about how far you've come from where you started.

At VetPets of Southwestern Pennsylvania, we have the privilege of witnessing something extraordinary: veterans and their dogs building partnerships that can change the course of their lives.

And today, we're celebrating one of those partnerships.

🇺🇸 TEAM EDEN HAS SCORED AN IMPRESSIVE 85% ON THEIR PUBLIC ACCESS TEST! 🐕👏
For this veteran and his four-legged partner, that number represents far more than a training evaluation.

It represents dedication.
It represents trust.
It represents countless hours of hard work, patience, and perseverance.
And most importantly, it represents significant progress toward a brighter, more independent future together.

When Team Eden began their journey, there was no guarantee that every training session would be easy or that every challenge could be overcome overnight.
But they kept showing up.
They kept learning.
They kept trusting the process.
And today, that dedication is paying off!

🐾 WHAT DOES AN 85% SCORE MEAN?
During their public access evaluation, Team Eden demonstrated important progress in:

✅ Navigating busy public environments while maintaining focus.

✅ Responding to obedience commands around distractions.

✅ Improving communication and teamwork between veteran and dog.

✅ Practicing appropriate behavior around strangers, other animals, and unexpected situations.

✅ Developing the confidence and reliability needed for future service dog work.

While our program requires a 90% passing score, Team Eden is now just five percentage points away from that important milestone!
And we believe every step forward deserves recognition.

❤️ BUT HERE'S THE PART OF THIS STORY THAT MATTERS MOST.

Behind this 85% score is a veteran who continues to put in the work.
A dog who continues to develop the skills needed to support their handler.
And a community of supporters who are helping make this journey possible.
YOUR SUPPORT IS KEEPING TEAM EDEN GOING!

Every donation, every sponsorship, every volunteer hour, and every encouraging word helps us provide the training, guidance, and resources that veteran service dog teams need to succeed.

Service dog training isn't something that happens overnight.
It takes time.
It takes commitment.
And it takes a community willing to stand behind those who have already stood for us.

🎯 WHAT'S NEXT FOR TEAM EDEN?
This veteran team will continue working toward their 90% public access requirement while
strengthening:

🐕 Focus and neutrality around food, people, and environmental distractions.

🐕 Advanced obedience and reliable handler communication.

🐕 Disability-related task training designed around the veteran's individual needs.

🐕 Confidence and consistency in real-world situations.

🐕 The lasting partnership that will support their independence and quality of life.

🇺🇸 85% TODAY. A BRIGHTER TOMORROW.

To Team Eden:
We see your progress.
We see your determination.
And we see the future you are working so hard to build together.

You may not have reached the passing score yet, but you have already accomplished something worth celebrating.

You've proven that progress is possible, that hard work matters, and that the journey is worth continuing.

And to everyone who has supported VetPets:

THIS IS WHAT YOUR GENEROSITY LOOKS LIKE!

It looks like a veteran refusing to give up.

It looks like a dog learning to become a dependable partner.

It looks like an 85% score that brings a team closer to a life-changing goal.

And it looks like a community coming together to remind our heroes that they don't have to fight every battle alone.

❤️ Help us keep Team Eden moving forward. Your support today can help turn an 85% into the next great milestone!

Because at VetPets, we don't just train dogs. We invest in veterans, restore confidence, and help build futures worth fighting for.

🐾🇺🇸 CONGRATULATIONS, TEAM EDEN! KEEP PUSHING FORWARD. WE'RE BEHIND YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!
