Today our President and CEO, Virginia Kase Solomón, had the honor of speaking at the 63rd anniversary of the March on Washington. She stood alongside people from every background who believe that a stronger democracy is possible when we show up for one another.

Leadership has never been about standing above a movement, it's about standing with people, in the streets, in communities, and wherever the work is needed most. The March on Washington has always represented the power of ordinary people coming together to demand a better future, and that spirit continues to this day.

63 years ago, Martin Luther King, Jr. said “When we allow freedom to ring—when we let it ring... from every state and every city.” At Common Cause, we know progress only happens because people organize, advocate, and refuse to give up. Every generation is called to carry the work forward, and we see people answering that call every single day.

The challenges before us are real, but so is our collective power. When we come together with purpose, courage, and hope, change happens.

Across the country, Common Cause has taken action in more than a dozen states to protect voters' privacy and defend the right to vote without interference. From Illinois and Pennsylvania to Arizona, Colorado, and beyond, we've helped protect the personal information of more than 56 million voters.

Now, we're fighting back against an even bigger threat.

An illegal federal voter database would put sensitive personal information at risk and could lead to eligible voters being wrongly flagged, removed, or denied their rights.

That's why Common Cause sued to block the DOJ from stockpiling millions of Americans' confidential voter data and creating a national voter database.

We won't stand by while privacy rights and voting rights are under attack.

“Mail-in voting is so safe that even the president has used it twice this year.” - Virginia Kase Solomón, Common Cause President and CEO.

Yet USPS’s new rule would make it harder for eligible seniors, rural voters, voters with disabilities, and servicemembers to vote by mail.

Common Cause along with Black Voters Matter Fund, the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and the NAACP filed a complaint in federal court to stop these illegal changes and protect voters' freedom to cast their ballot by mail.
