Sorry for the delay in posting, but we’ve been busy!

Sweet Sally the Beagle babe was discharged Tuesday and is being fostered! She is settling in and getting special skin treatments and meds and getting better each day. So thankful for our volunteers who took her in so she can heal.

Turns out, she did have Parvo. Even though she is an adult, because her immune system was so knocked down, she was still able to get it. She will be available for adoption once she is done with her treatments and pampering at the spoiled beagle resort 😂

We can’t thank you all enough for your donations to help her get treatment. Her total bill was around $1500 and because of all the donations, our organization only had to cover the $500 we put down for treatment and the rest was covered!! 🤯

We thank you and Sally especially thanks you! We will continue to share updates on her and pictures of her recovery ❤️‍🩹

This poor, sweet Beagle baby was brought to the shelter after someone found it in critical shape.

Ms. Peggy took her to the animal hospita when she was brought in, and as you could probably conclude from the picture, she is very sick.

We have no idea how expensive her stay will be, but we could look in her eyes and know that if they felt she could survive this, that she would be worth every penny (should that even be a saying now? Maybe worth every nickel or dime?).

She has a severe worm infestation, likely GI infection, and severe skin infection. She is requiring a stay until at least Monday for fluids, antibiotics, and monitoring of her vitals due to blood loss from her worms and infection. 🤕

One really sick dog can very quickly wipe out our funding. We don’t have routine donors and when we have people donate for specific causes (like spay/neuter) we try very hard to honor those requests unless they say use it otherwise for emergencies.

Her bill could be anywhere from $1,000-3,000 and one of our own put their personal credit card on the line to guarantee payment so her life could be saved. That’s rescue.

If you would like to help with her hospital expenses, she is currently hospitalized at:

🏥South County Animal Hospital in Greenwood, AR.
Their number is 479-996-6095.

You can call and let them know you would like to help cover her bill and they can apply it to her account for current costs and even add a credit for any additional that accrue. Just let them know it is the Beagle from Waldron Shelter and Peggy is the one who took her in.

You can also donate to our cashapp and in the note include “Beagle Bill” and we will put it toward her medical costs!

We also have an account at Chambers Bank under Friends of the Shelter/Homeless Pets Lifeline.

We appreciate all of you who love and care for these babies like we do and help by sharing, praying, donating, volunteering, etc. We could not save her without you.

I can’t wait to see her skin not red, her hair grow back, and her eyes light back up and share her improvements with all of you 😍

*COURTESY POST*

These three baby dogs live with older couple that are disabled. They have experienced a major life event that is completely out of their control and unable to keep the dogs, even though they love them very much.

They are looking for homes for them, they do not have to stay together. If they are unable to find homes for them by June 1st, they will have no place for them to go and are scared they will have to be euthanized 😞

Here is what she said about them:

Sockies and Midnight love to be outside to run and play. They are around a year and a half old. Good with cats and other dogs and good dispositions. They are not neutered. They have not been around any children, so not sure about how they would react to them, but personality wise no red flags to suggest they wouldn’t do well with them. They are crate trained and will come with crate, because they are still young, they are not quite 100% housebroken.

Whiskers - She is fixed and she just loves to be loved on, and she's bashful and beautiful. She loves kittens and cats, she likes to lick on them and take care of them 😍 she is also crate trained and will come with her crate. She also would need to be tested around children before going to a home with them…but she sounds like a total little sweet heart that would attach great to a tiny human.

These dogs are not under the care of the shelter. Please do not contact the City or Animal Shelter if you have questions or info, message us and we can help you get in touch with their owner.

If you know anyone looking or that might have contacts for fostering or helping these sweet babies, we would love to know!!

A little late on posting, but we want to wish all of our volunteers a very happy National Volunteer Week!

Everything our organization does is volunteer and donation based. We have volunteers in elementary school and volunteers that are retired. It truly takes all kinds of kinds to do rescue work.

Some of our longest and most involved volunteers got a few little thank you gifts and we just want to spotlight them a little, because they are absolutely at the heart of everything we do and truly make a difference for the dogs!

Thank you to everyone who volunteers their time, energy, prayers, donations, supplies, and shares on Facebook. It is all from the heart and we feel it.

Ms. Peggy and I get our fulfillment from seeing the adoptions, successful transports, updates, and empty kennels. It is our goal to continue the work we are doing and incentivize and foster the love for this work in the younger volunteers we have, because they really show up and work hard.

We love you all and are thankful for you every day, so are the pups!

Not pictured: a whole lot of people!

Today, this awesome family came looking especially for Toby boy. He broke out his beautiful grin and goofy personality and they were ready to load him up and take him HOME!!!!

We are so thankful they chose to adopt instead of shop 🫶🏼

We have been talking about trying to arrange a few emergency fosters that could foster for a few days while other rescues help arrange placement or transport of dogs we can’t keep at the shelter (ie. pregnant dogs). It would be difficult to have someone put up an entire kennel for this need, but saw these on sale on Wal-Mart flash deals and I think these would be perfect. If we had two of these and a few people available as short term fosters (we provide everything!), things would go much smoother!

If you can be a short term foster or can help by donating one of these, we would wash your feet and all the things! 😂
