We are beyond grateful to DEGA Mobile Veterinary Care for making a real difference in this community. In the last couple months multiple vaccine clinics were held helping 50 pets, then yesterday many kitties were spayed & neutered.

Along with Dogs Deserve Better - Piedmont NC untethering almost a dozen dogs and helping in other ways. Together we not only helped change the lives of many pets, we made an amazing impact in this community.

So wonderful to see. 🐾

❤️ Love means not giving up — even when things get hard.

When Brownie suddenly began showing fear and biting behaviors, his family was worried, and late afternoons seemed to be especially stressful for him.

But giving up on Brownie was never an option. 🐾

His family found SPCA of Wake County pet behavior services and began working with trainer John. Together, they made wonderful progress, but Brownie still needed a safe, calm, and enjoyable place to retreat to during those stressful times.

The family then reached out to Dogs Deserve Better - Piedmont NC for help. ❤️

Earlier this week, we set up a kennel where Brownie could have his own peaceful outdoor space.

The best part? Brownie loves it! He gets so excited to spend time outdoors in his safe, peaceful spot. ❤️

We’re so happy hearing this and grateful to be part of his journey!

💙 As August comes to a close, we want to extend our sincerest thanks to our incredible monthly donors. 💙

Because of your continued support, we were able to meet one of our most critical needs this month: veterinary care for 11 pets and 2 litters of puppies — 13 puppies in total. 🐾

These pets needed medical care they simply couldn’t wait for, and your generosity helped ensure they received the treatment they needed when they needed it most.

The photos are just a few of the pets you helped this month: Chicle, Blackie, Foxxy, Kiara, Cookie, and Missy’ puppies and Sandy’s puppies. ❤️

And while your support has helped get these puppies the care they needed, they still need your help finding loving foster homes or forever homes. 🏡🐶

If you’re able to open your heart and home to one of these sweet puppies, please reach out to us!

Thank you Unleashed, the Dog & Cat Store for hosting our Pups & Suds fundraiser. We met lots of adorable pups and their family. 🐶

🐾 So many loose dogs. So many puppies. The cycle feels never-ending.

We do our best to help, and we are so grateful for the families willing to spay and neuter their dogs with our support. ❤️

The challenges are real—some families don’t accept help, and logistics can be difficult—but we keep working to find solutions.

The animal welfare crisis will not change without changing things directly within the communities themselves. Every spay, every neuter, every litter prevented brings us one step closer to a better future.

Fingers crossed for this little group who need so much… vet care, spay for mom and for these babies once they are older.

And how miraculous would rescue be. 💕

We believe change is possible. And we will keep trying. 🐾

Bring your pup out for a bath and support a great cause! For just $20 per dog, our super volunteers will do the washing, and every wash helps Dogs Deserve Better - Piedmont NC continue supporting community dogs in need.

We go where the need is greatest. ❤️🐾

There are dogs who will never walk into a rescue, never have someone advocate for them, and whose families may not even know that help is available.

So we meet them where they are.

We see a chained dog and knock on the door. We start a conversation. We build a relationship. We earn trust. And when a family is open to help, we step in with compassion and support.

Because sometimes the difference between a dog receiving help and a dog being surrendered to a shelter—or living without the basics—is simply someone showing up.

These are the dogs we are here for.

The dogs who have nothing.
The families who don’t know where to turn.
The communities that are too often overlooked.

If we didn’t meet them where they are, they would never receive help at all.

That may mean providing spay and neuter, helping with veterinary care, untethering, and making sure dogs have the basic care they need to stay healthy and safe.

That is why we go.
That is why we knock.
That is why we stay. 🐾

Help us help the forgotten. ❤️
