Bri's Lodge

Bri's Lodge This non-profit was started in memory of our daughter, BriAnna Kruzel who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 18 on September 28, 2013 from natural causes.

Bri's Lodge /What Would Bri Do is a non-profit 501c3 that helps individuals cope with loss, support their healing, nurture their physical and emotional well-being and bring hope for the future-No one should grieve alone. Throughout BriAnna’s life she was very active and passionate about Girl Scouts. Her greatest love was working with Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2013 she was nominated and won High

School Big Sister of the Year, something she was very proud of. BriAnna also received the Youth Appreciation Award through the St. Cloud Optimist Club for her hard work with Big Brothers Big Sisters. BriAnna gave much of her time volunteering and was very involved with the Sartell Community Ed Dance program. In her free time she enjoyed scrapbooking, crafting and being around animals. She was a very happy person that had an infectious smile that would light up a room. In an attempt to honor her legacy of giving back, the goal of our non-profit is to continue giving back to the community that she loved.

❇️ Long weekend reminder ❇️

It's okay to:
• Rest
• Say no
• Feel both grateful AND grieving

Take a break from being "strong"
Grief is work, too. The hardest kind. This weekend, give yourself permission to rest.

🕯️ What Do You Miss?

Grief can show up in the smallest moments.

This Friday, we’re asking: What is one little thing you miss?

A phone call.
Their laugh.
Their favorite meal.
A goodnight text.
Sitting beside them.
Hearing their voice.

Share yours below if you feel comfortable. You never know who may read your words and think, “Me too.”

5 things people don't always understand about grief:
1️⃣ Grief doesn't have a timeline.
2️⃣ Someone can laugh, smile, and have a good day while still grieving deeply.
3️⃣ Grief isn't just sadness. It can look like anger, guilt, anxiety, exhaustion, numbness, confusion, loneliness, or even relief.
4️⃣ Anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, songs, smells, places, and ordinary moments can bring grief rushing back.
5️⃣ People don't “get over” someone they love. They learn how to carry the loss with them.
If you're grieving, please give yourself permission to have good days and hard days.
And if someone you love is grieving, you don't need to have the perfect words.
Just showing up matters.

🪑 We need to be honest… Bri’s Lodge needs your help.

Behind every program, every support group, every grieving person who walks through our doors, there are real costs to keeping the doors open.

And right now, finances are challenging.

This has been an especially difficult year. Donations are down, expenses continue to rise, and we are doing everything we can to stretch every dollar while continuing to be there for the people who need us.

But we don’t want finances to determine whether someone has a place to turn when their world has fallen apart.

That’s why we’re asking our community to stand beside us.

❤️ Our goal is to raise $25,000 in 30 days.

Not because $25,000 solves everything — but because it gives us breathing room. It helps us keep the lights on, keep our programs going, provide resources, and most importantly, keep a chair available for someone who is grieving.

Maybe you can give $25.
Maybe you can give $50.
Maybe you can give $100.
Maybe you can’t give right now — but you can share this post.

Every donation. Every share. Every person who tells someone about Bri’s Lodge matters.

🪑 Help us fill the chair.
❤️ Help us fill the gap.
🙏 Help us keep Bri’s Lodge here for the people who need us.

$25,000. 30 days. One community.

No one should grieve alone — and we don’t want to face this challenge alone either.

❤️ THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR 8TH ANNUAL KRUZIN’ FOR BRI’S LODGE CAR SHOW SO SPECIAL! ❤️

We are feeling incredibly grateful after another amazing Kruzin’ for Bri’s Lodge Car Show!

There are so many people who deserve a THANK YOU, because this event truly would not happen without the support of our community.

🚗 To every car, truck, and motorcycle that came out:
Thank you for bringing your incredible rides, sharing your passion, and spending your Sunday with us. We are so grateful you chose to support Bri’s Lodge by being part of the show!

👋 To everyone who came out to watch and support:
Thank you for walking through the parking lot, admiring the vehicles, visiting our tables, enjoying the food, making purchases, and simply being there. Your presence means more than you know.

❤️ To everyone who purchased raffle tickets:
Thank you for supporting Bri’s Lodge through our raffle! Every ticket purchased helps us continue our work and provide grief resources and support to people in our community.

🧁 To everyone who donated, shopped, baked, crafted, or supported our craft and bake sale:
Thank you for helping make that part of the event possible and for giving our community another way to support Bri’s Lodge.

🙌 To our volunteers:
There truly aren't enough words to thank you. From setting up and getting things ready, to registration, food, raffle tickets, sales, answering questions, helping throughout the day, and cleaning up afterward — you gave your time, energy, and heart to Bri’s Lodge. We could not do this without you.

🍝 To everyone who helped with the food and all the behind-the-scenes work:
Thank you for the countless little things that people may not see but that make an event like this come together.

And to everyone who shared our posts, invited their friends, talked about the event, encouraged someone to attend, donated, volunteered, or supported us in any way — THANK YOU.

Every person who showed up helped make this more than just a car show.

You helped us create a day filled with community, connection, laughter, memories, and support.

And most importantly, you helped us continue the work of Bri’s Lodge — creating a place where people experiencing grief and loss can find support, resources, and a reminder that they don't have to walk through it alone.

From all of us at Bri’s Lodge:

THANK YOU. ❤️

We couldn't do what we do without you, and we are already so grateful for everyone who helped make the 8th Annual Kruzin’ for Bri’s Lodge Car Show one to remember.

💙🏆 PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD — A TROPHY WITH A STORY 🏆💙

Some cars are more than cars.

They carry memories.
They carry stories.
And sometimes, they carry a piece of someone who will never be forgotten.

This year’s People’s Choice Award has a very special meaning to the Bri’s Lodge family.

Our board member, Natasha, lost her husband, Josh, who proudly served as a Minnesota State Trooper.

Their friend, Luke, brought a couple State Patrol vehicles to our car show. One of those squad cars had a story of its own.

Luke got the car’s history — only to discover something incredibly meaningful:

It was Josh’s squad car.

Luke then took on the incredible task of restoring the car in memory of Josh.

So when you look at this car, you aren't just looking at a beautifully restored State Patrol vehicle.

You are looking at a memory preserved. A friendship honored. A life remembered. A legacy carried forward.

It felt incredibly fitting that this very special car would receive our People’s Choice Award this year.

💙 For Josh.
💙 For Natasha.
💙 For the memories that never leave us.
💙 For a life of service that will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Luke, for restoring something so meaningful and allowing us all to be part of its story.

And thank you to everyone who chose this car as your People’s Choice.

🏆 This trophy is more than an award. It’s a tribute.

Rest easy, Josh. 💙

A day to honor and hold space for the fathers who are parenting a child in heaven instead of in their arms.
At Bri's Lodge, we know that grief doesn't end, and fatherhood doesn't either.
To the dad navigating this journey —
Your grief matters. Your love matters. Your role as a father still matters, every single day.
You don't have to grieve alone. Whether your loss was recent or years ago, we are here. Our support groups, 1:1 grief companioning, and our community are here to walk beside you.
Join us in honoring these incredible fathers. If you are a bereaved dad, we see you. If you know one, let him know you're thinking of him this week.
