🐱 The Hidden Cost of a "Free Cat" 🐱

We've all seen the posts: "Free kittens to good home!" While bringing home a free cat may seem like a bargain, the reality is that the upfront cost is often just the beginning.

A "free" cat may still need:
💉 Vaccinations
🩺 Wellness exams
✂️ Spay or neuter surgery
🦠 Testing for diseases such as FeLV/FIV
🐛 Deworming and parasite treatment
🔍 Treatment for unknown health issues
🏷️ A microchip for identification

These expenses can quickly add up to hundreds of dollars—or more.

Just one look into those big, beautiful eyes and you'll understand why Boo has stolen the hearts of so many of our volunteers. ❤️

Boo came to Green Acres Animal Rescue as an owner surrender after having difficulties with an older resident cat who wasn't interested in making friends. Since joining our rescue family, Boo has shown us what an amazing boy he truly is! He has made a few feline buddies, does well with other cats, and absolutely loves to give snuggles.

With his striking black-and-white coat, sweet personality, and those unforgettable eyes, Boo is the total package. He's affectionate, charming, and ready to find a family of his very own.

Kitten season is in full swing, and while we are grateful to be able to help so many cats and kittens in need, the costs of their care continue to add up.

🐾💕 KITTENS GALORE! 💕🐾

Are you looking to add a little fun, excitement, and endless entertainment to your home? We have kittens available for adoption!

Whether you're searching for a black and white beauty, a playful orange kitten, a stunning dilute calico, or an adorable tabby, we have a variety of colors, patterns, and personalities waiting to meet you. We even have both short-haired and long-haired kittens!

Most of our kittens are between 3 and 4 months old and are ready to find loving families to call their own. They are curious, playful, energetic, and yes—a little rambunctious at times—but that's all part of the kitten charm!

From zoomies across the living room to purring cuddles after a busy day of play, these little ones bring so much joy and laughter wherever they go. There is truly never a dull moment when kittens are around, and the cuteness they bring is simply impossible to resist.

🧡🐾 Meet Rooster! 🐾🧡

If you're looking for a handsome orange gentleman to brighten your days, Rooster may be your perfect match!

At almost 2 years old, Rooster has a wonderful personality and knows exactly what he likes. He absolutely loves being brushed, can't resist chasing wand toys with ribbons, and could spend hours watching Bird TV from the comfort of his favorite spot.

Like many orange cats, Rooster takes his mealtime seriously! He loves his food and may give a playful little swat when you reach for his bowl to refill it—or even his water dish. Don't worry, it's all in good fun, and as soon as his food arrives, he's perfectly happy to let you take care of business.

We've been told that Rooster does well with other cats, but we haven't yet found the right feline friend to test that out with at the rescue. What we do know is that he is ready to leave shelter life behind and find a family of his very own.

Rooster has been waiting since February, and we would love nothing more than to see this sweet, playful boy finally find the forever home he deserves.

🐾 An Update on Duke 🐾

Many of you may remember Duke, the sweet cat who came to us after enduring unimaginable cruelty. He was beaten and left outside during the harsh Minnesota winter, fighting to survive against all odds. Despite everything he had been through, Duke never gave up.

Today, we are overjoyed to share that Duke is thriving in his forever home. His journey from victim to beloved family member is a testament to resilience, compassion, and the incredible difference that kindness can make.

We are beyond grateful to the person who found and saved Duke, to everyone who supported his recovery, and most importantly, to the family who opened their hearts and home to him. Hearing how loved and cherished he is today fills our hearts with more joy than words can express.

His new family had this to say:

"Its going amazing! He settled right in and is the sweetest cat. He likes to hang out above the cupboards while I'm at work and comes down right when I walk in. Sent a couple pics for ya. He fits perfectly with us."

🐾 Bonded Brothers Looking for Their Forever Home! 🐾

Meet Beast & Shmores, two adorable bonded part-Siamese boys searching for a loving home together. ❤️

These handsome brothers were born on a farm in Southern Minnesota and were taken inside by the family to help them survive our harsh Minnesota winter. Raised indoors alongside their two siblings, Beast and Shmores have grown into sweet, friendly, and affectionate cats.

These boys absolutely love each other and can often be found snuggled up together, sleeping with their heads side-by-side. Their bond is truly special, and they are looking for a family that will welcome them both into their hearts and home.
