WCCA Members — Upcoming Board Elections & Open Position

As we head into our Annual Meeting on April 25, we want to make sure everyone is aware of the positions that will be addressed this year.

🔹 Board of Directors (3 Positions)
Board of Director positions are 3-year terms, and the following seats are up for election:

• District 1 – Chris Vandiver (running for re-election)
• District 2 – Jill Brady (running for re-election)
• District 3 – Sarina Keele (running for re-election)

We appreciate the time and service these board members have given and welcome any members interested in running for a position.

🔹 Treasurer/Secretary Position (1 Position)
We will also be filling a Treasurer/Secretary position this year.

While this role was originally part of a term running through 2027, it is currently vacant and needs to be filled. This position will be elected for a one-year term to realign with our normal election cycle.

If you are interested in serving, or would like to nominate someone, please plan to attend the meeting or reach out ahead of time.

We appreciate members who are willing to step up and help keep our association strong and moving forward.

The Wagoner County Cattlemen’s Association joins our community in mourning the sudden loss of Coweta FFA President, Isabella Clay.

Isabella was more than a student leader, she was a passionate advocate for agriculture and a shining example of the future of our industry. Through her work in FFA, she represented the values that run deep in rural Oklahoma, hard work, leadership, integrity, and a love for the land and livestock that sustain our communities.

Young leaders like Isabella are the heartbeat of agriculture’s future. Her dedication to FFA, her willingness to serve, and her passion for the agriculture industry made a lasting impact on those around her. The ripple effect of her loss will be felt not only in her school and community, but across the entire agriculture industry.

We extend our deepest condolences to Isabella’s family, friends, the Coweta FFA Chapter, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time.

📣WCCA Chili Supper – New Date Announced

After thoughtful discussion, the Wagoner County Cattlemen’s Association has rescheduled our annual Chili Supper for October 10 at the same location.

With the busy spring and show season approaching, the Board felt a fall date would allow us to better serve our members and community. October brings a more fitting time for fellowship, good food, and gathering together.

WCCA will continue supporting this year’s upcoming show season and awarding scholarships as planned. At the same time, moving the event to the fall allows us to strengthen long-term planning and position future fundraising support well ahead of scholarship awards and upcoming County Junior Livestock Shows in the years to come.

Our commitment to investing in the next generation and strengthening our agricultural community remains steady.

We look forward to seeing everyone on October 10th 2026.🍂

WCCA Scholarship Update

The Wagoner County Cattlemen’s Association is pleased to announce important updates to our scholarship program.

Beginning this year, the scholarship award has been increased from $500 to $1,000 to provide more meaningful support to our recipients and remain competitive with other local opportunities.

In addition, applicants who previously received the WCCA scholarship as high school seniors are now eligible to apply for a second term following graduation.

We are committed to investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders and supporting students as they continue their education.

Application details are available on our website.
Deadline to apply: March 31.

Chili Supper Update

Due to the winter weather expected this weekend — including the increasing likelihood and amount of snow — we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Chili Supper.

The safety of our members, volunteers, and community is our top priority, and we feel this is the most responsible choice given the conditions.

A new date will be announced as soon as one is determined.

We will do our best to personally reach out to everyone who responded to the invitation, but if you can help spread the word, we would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Please stay safe and warm.
