ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

DECEMBER 13, 2022

THE ANNUAL AMERICAN LEGION FAMILY Post/Unit 153 CHRISTMAS PARTY HELD AT THE WAGONER CIVIC CENTER WAS A HUGE SUCCESS WITH 85 PEOPLE ATTENDING. OUR COMMANDER ART CORRALES OPENED THE FESTIVAL WITH A PRAYER. THE PREPARED FOOD COVERED OVER 4 OR MORE TABLES. OUR DOOR GREETER WERE BONNI BUNNING AND CINDY
BULLOCK. THEY HANDED OUT TICKETS TO ADULTS FOR THE FIVE SURPRISE GIFTS AND 12 TABLE DECORATIONS MADE BY CHERYL SKINNER. THE 17 PREPARED CHRISTMAS BAGS FOR CHILDREN
WERE HANDED OUT.

THE AMERICAN LEGION AND AUXILIARY HONORED JIM MARSH WITH APPRECIATION CARDS AND GIFT CARDS FOR 18 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO POST 153. THE AMERICAN
LEGION RIDERS COMMANDER GUS JONES STATED THEY HAVE CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR 11 VETERANS COLLECTED FOR 2 LOCAL NURSING HOMES TO BE DELIVERED ON DECEMBER 21.
2O22. THEIR TOY DRIVE FOR NEEDY CHILDREN IS A HUGE SUCCESS. ELDONNA DEER GAVE A SUMMARY ON THE PIGGY BANKS FOR AEF AT THE END OF OUR CEREMONY. CHERYL SKINNER PRESENTED SUSAN BEVEL AND CINDY BULLOCK A BEAUTIFUL GIFT AND BAG OF CHOCOLATES FOR ORGANIZING THE EVENT. AUXILIARY MEMBER STEPHANIE ROWLEY GATHERED SEVERAL CONTAINERS OF FOOD TO DELIVER TO THE WAGONER POLICE DEPARTMENT.

American Legion Family (Legion, Riders, Auxiliary and Sons)

This year's Post/Unit 153 annual Christmas party will be on 13 Dec 2022 at The Wagoner Civic Center, 301 S Grant St, Wagoner, OK. Setup will start at 4pm. The Christmas prayer and dinner will begin at 6:30pm.

Kids, if you have your piggy bank from last Christmas, please bring it in for the Children Welfare Community (CWF) and the children that need help. Your bank doesn't need to be full. Any little bit helps.

Yard Sale!!! ALA Unit 153 Wagoner, OK will be having a yard sale in conjunction with the Wagoner City Wide Yard Sale. The Sale will be on 13-15 Oct 2022, 9AM-4PM at the AL Post 153, 102 N. JEFFERSON AVE., Wagoner, OK. Clothes, kitchen items, nik-naks, and many other things will be available. Proceeds will go to our Veterans.

Congrats, Cindy Bullock, Unit 153, Wagoner, OK!!! She is the 2022 American Legion Auxiliary Southern Division Unit Member of the Year for Oklahoma. Southern Division will forward her nomination to National representing Oklahoma. Good luck, Cindy!!! We love you. Thanks for all you do for our Unit.

Post 153/Riders with support from Unit 153 Poppy Drive, Walmart, Wagoner, OK. Look at their eye opener. Many people stop because of the curiosity of the Riders' bikes. The group also gave out American flags with ALF Post/Unit 153 meeting times and address. They also had the "Flanders Field" poem that were given to the school age child to let the friends at school know what the Poppies mean.

Post/Unit 153 Memorial Day Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial. Post commander Art Corrales ( ALA Member} at the Wagoner County Courthouse, Wagoner, OK. Commander Art Corrales (ALA member) was the emcee for the ceremony and also gave a moving speech. The Post 153 honor guard was in attendance. Unit president another moving speech. There were several people from the community showing their support.

We had a great convention which was sponsored by the AL Post 153 & ALA Unit 153 Wagoner, OK.
The elections of officers for 2022-2023 was conducted. The elected and approved were as follow:

A Memorial Service was given for ALA members passing to the Great Beyond the last 2 years.
Three Resolutions were read and approved to update the Second District C & BL.

By the way, at the May 10th Auxiliary meeting, we will be having a baby shower for Auxiliary members Brittany Thorne (Art and Nancy Corrales' daughter) and Sky Deer (Curtis and Eldonna Deer's daughter-in-law). We hope that everyone can make it. Potluck at 6:30pm and Meeting at 7pm. Brittany will be having a boy. We hope to give each of them some nice gifts.
