Vista Friends and Newcomers VFN sponsors monthly Coffees, Luncheons and Dinners. Members come from the North San Diego cities of Vista, Oceanside, San Marcos, Carlsbad and Escondido.

Our Monthly Program Meeting is 9:30AM 2nd Thursday of each month. We meet at Broken Yolk, Oceanside

JUNE BOARD
The June Board meeting will be Monday, June 15 at 10:00 at Judith’s. Please let her know if you will be in attendance.
This Board meeting will include the new Board members that were installed on the 11th. Please let Judith know if you have any items for the agenda.

Viva-la-Vino
Time Change: the winery closes at 5:00 so we will need to leave Judith’s house at 2:15 to get there by 3:00. It should be a beautiful day.

Our June Viva La Vino will be on Saturday, June 13, 3:00PM at the Monserate Winery 2757 Gird Rd Fallbrook, CA 92028
This is a family owned winery. They have a Courtyard menu with Pizza charcuterie board, sandwiches and salads. They also have ‘flights’ of wine. Please let Judith or Yolanda know if you would like to drive with us. It takes 37 minutes from Judith’s home but we’ve been told it’s a beautiful winery.Fun and relaxing. If you would like ride with Judith or Yolanda please be at Judith’s home at 2:15.

We're riding the Coaster to OLD TOWN
For a fun SPECIAL EVENT, we are going to OLD TOWN San Diego on THURSDAY, JUNE 25. We will take the Coaster from the Oceanside Transit Center at 195 S, Tremont St., leaving at 10.36 AM on the #632 and arriving in OLD TOWN at 11.31.Please buy your ticket at the ticket vending machines at the Transit Center. Select the SENIOR RATE DAY PASS for $7.50 — round trip. Or you can catch the COASTER along one of its stops along the route. Upon arrival in OLD TOWN, a short walk from the train station will bring us into the restaurant area where we will have lunch. After lunch, we have lots of choices. Some popular shops are Toby”s Candle and Soap Shop where you can make your own Candles from $4-$8. Another choice is Cousins Candies which feature homemade taffy and chocolate. Also, OLD TOWN MARKET PLACE for hand crafted items, jewelry, and pottery. There is also the historic haunted WHALEY HOUSE.. Self-guided tours are available, lasting 30-40 min. Tickets available on site costing $15. And don’t forget the EARLY AMERICA section where you can see original buildings like the old fashioned schoolhouse and Dr. and Dentist office.Because you have a Day Pass, you have your choice of departure times, either the 3:47 or 4:42. The 4:42 gives more time to explore and arrives back in Oceanside at 5:22. Please contact GAILif interested.
