JOIN US ON SATURDAY, JUNE 13 ~ FINAL SPRING NARRATIVE HEALING WORKSHOP π»π·πΉπͺ»πΈπΌ
The Driftless Writing Center is delighted to once again join local physician Dr. Jackie Redmer in hosting a workshop series focused on Narrative Healing. The spring 2026 series concludes tomorrow, June 13.
Narrative Healing is adapted from a growing field referred to as Narrative Medicine, which is an intentional process using the humanities to more deeply explore, share and understand the impact of human experiences. This practice relies on close and generous listening, storytelling and self-reflection.
Tomorrow we will finish the Narrative Medicine series on pain by looking at the paradox of love and pain. How is it true that "love heals all wounds" and "where there is love, there is pain?" We will explore these concepts through neurobiology, representation in art and, of course, narrative. By close reading and writing together, we connect with others and learn new tools for living a meaningful life. The workshop tomorrow is at the Vernon County Museum and History Center in Viroqua, Wisconsin.
