Update: All lanes on Lawyers Road, NW, in Vienna are now open.

If you take Lawyers Road, NW during your morning commute, you may want to find a new route tomorrow. That's because the northbound lane of Lawyers Road, NW, in Vienna will be closed from Maple Ave. to Church St. beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, for asphalt repair. Work will take several hours. Expect delays and use caution when in the area.

🪰 Spot a Spotted Lanternfly?

They’re invasive — but don’t panic! Healthy trees can survive them, and you can help keep them in check.

What to do:
• Skip sticky traps — they can harm helpful insects and small wildlife
• Remove Tree of Heaven, their favorite host
• Destroy egg masses (scrape into soapy water or alcohol, or smash)
• Squish nymphs and adults when you see them
• Avoid pesticides when possible; if you use one, follow the label carefully
• Report sightings in the free iNaturalist app
