This Thursday afternoon at Vienna Town Hall…

Update: Sorry folks. Change of plans. The process is just beginning, and the public presentation for the center of town project will take place at the Town Council Work Session on Monday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Vienna Police Department Community Room.

Years ago, the Town Council created a central gathering space in Vienna – The Town Green. Now work is beginning to envision the next steps in making the center of town a vibrant destination for recreation, business, and community engagement. Get a first-hand look at some preliminary findings and recommendations from a panel of outside experts on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Vienna Town Hall. The presentation will also be recorded and posted online.

Planning to be on the W&OD Trail on Friday?

Fairfax County Police Department has joined our other jurisdictions with definitive guidelines about what is and isn't legal to ride on the W&OD. Better yet, they will be on the trail this coming Friday morning to offer safety education. They'll be east of Vienna and in the Reston area.

Trash ALERT Vienna! August 31 - September 3

Friendly Reminder: Vienna residents should place trash and recycling at the curb by 5 a.m. on their designated pickup day this week, Aug. 31-Sept. 4. This will help keep the Town's sanitation crews safe as they begin collection earlier than usual to avoid potential heat-related health risks from the scorching heat in the forecast.

Update: All lanes on Lawyers Road, NW, in Vienna are now open.

If you take Lawyers Road, NW during your morning commute, you may want to find a new route tomorrow. That's because the northbound lane of Lawyers Road, NW, in Vienna will be closed from Maple Ave. to Church St. beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, for asphalt repair. Work will take several hours. Expect delays and use caution when in the area.
