If you are planning to ride Versailles State Park this weekend, please be aware that The Mammoth March is occurring all day Saturday. The march will be using Shadow Run. Shadow Run will be closed to mountain bikes on Saturday. Please be aware of this closure and ensure compliance to the park rules. It is going to be a beautiful weekend to ride. Please plan your ride appropriately on Saturday.
MammothMarch at Versailles State Park – June 20
Versailles State Park will be hosting MammothMarch on Saturday, June 20 — a sold-out, all-day hiking event covering 20 miles of park trails.
This exciting event kicks off at 7 AM and could take up to 12 hours to complete. Due to its size and scale, please note the following important updates to help you plan your visit:
Trail Impacts
Several trails will be in use throughout the day:
Horse Trails: X,W,S
Hiking Trails: 1, 2, and 3
Mountain Bike Trail: Shadow Run (will be closed for the duration of the event for everyone’s safety)
Increased Activity Near Lake & Pool
Expect heavier-than-usual traffic and limited parking in those areas. But don’t let that stop you — we’ll have a our regular park activities running throughout the day!
Horse Day Use Area & Campground Roads
These area will see additional hiker traffic as participants exit the area.
All Other Trails Remain Open
Our horse, hiking, and mountain biking trails (aside from Shadow Run) remain open to the public — just be aware there will be more foot traffic than usual.
Reminder: MammothMarch requires pre-registration to participate.
