Hoosier Hills Quilts For Kids

We are the Indiana Chapter of the National Quilts for Kids organization. This Indiana chapter is located in Ripley County Indiana near Versailles.

Our quilts have been delivered to many hospitals in the tristate - Cincinnati Childrens, Norton Childrens, Riley Childrens, Peyton Manning and Lutheran Children's Hospitals. It is only through donations of time and fabric that we are able to fulfill our mission to transform fabrics into quilts that comfort children in need. We will welcome a volunteer from anywhere in Indiana or out of our state.

I stopped into The Quilter's Nook, Inc. and was surprised with 18 quilts that have been dropped off.

You ladies keep doing beautiful work. The colors, the applique, the quilting... your work is truly appreciated.

I don't have a delivery scheduled yet, but I will be going to drop quilts off in the coming weeks.

Our 10 year anniversary was this weekend - which was made possible by all of your support :)

Thank you to Chris for letting us continue to meet up at The Quilters The Quilter's Nook, Inc.. It was nice to spend time sewing with Amy , Cathy, Barb and Theresa.

Dawn dropped of 7 finished quilts that she completed with JoAnn Disbro. Thank you ladies.

We had the game "Guess How Many Quilts Were Delivered in 10 Years" Thank you to everyone who played.

The number is 1,780 quilts delivered to hospitals and local fire departments. THANK YOU so much for your support

Dawn Bustle and Jo Santen had the closest guesses and they each won a $50 gift certification to the quilt shop

Cathy Wagner and Theresa Parker had the next closest guesses and they each won $25 gift certificates to the quilt shop

You ladies buy yourselves something fun !!

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary we are having a little game Saturday

The challenge is to guess how many quilts our chapter has delivered in our first 10 years The magic number is somewhere between 1500 and 2000

Stop by and mark up to 5 guesses. The winning number will be announced at 3:30.

You do not have to be present to win and only 1 prize per person

The 2 closest guesses each will win $50 gift certificates to the Quilters Nook and the third and fourth closest will each win $25 gift certificates to buy yourselves a little treat. Just my way of saying thanks for all of your help

How cute are these?

I posted a pattern from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for patients dolls or teddy bear robes .. and Jo Santen jumped right to it and dropped 12 of these off.

Thank you Jo! I will drop these off with the next delivery of quilts

Just an idea if you have any left over pieces of fabric that you're not sure what to do with......

When I made our last delivery to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital, the sewing room told me how they also make little robes for the patients dolls and teddy bears. The little ones like to play putting a robe on the teddy and then wrapping the teddy in a quilt

I dropped off a load of quilts today at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital. They were happy to get them all --- the completed quilts and the tops. They are happy to finished up the tops

I stopped by the Quilters The Quilter's Nook, Inc. yesterday and there was a surprise delivery.

Oma Jean has been busy! I have never met her, but I hear she is 96 years old, lives in West Virginia and sews on quilt tops every day. Her great granddaughter lives in the area and drops off the tops that she picks up from her.

Yesterday's pick up was 72 quilt tops! These are much appreciated These will be dropped off in the morning at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital -- with all of the other beautiful quilts that all of the other talented quilters have donated

I stopped in at The Quilter's Nook, Inc. yesterday and there were quilts there for pick up!!

A big THANK YOU to JoAnn Disbro, Terri Libby, Dawn Bustle and Karen Eash. The quilts are beautiful and they will make some little ones smile

My current plan is to make a delivery to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital on June 8

I want to give a huge shout out and THANK YOU to the ladies at St John’s in Napoleon. I met up with Martha Perez, Mary Borgman and Mary Jane Kurtz and accepted their donation of 72 quilts!

I will be taking these and other donated quilts to children’s Hospital very soon
