The Farley Center is delighted to welcome Christopher Peguero as our new Executive Director!

Christopher is a community engagement and nonprofit leader with more than 25 years of experience advancing public service, organizational development, strategic partnerships, and community-centered initiatives. He has held leadership roles with Type One Energy, Promega, Seattle City Light, and the City of Madison, where he led efforts focused on community engagement, workforce development, sustainability, and organizational effectiveness. He currently serves on the Verona Area School District Board of Education and was recognized as one of Wisconsin's Most Influential Native American Leaders by Madison365 in 2024. In 2026, he received the Judi Devereux Community Activist Award from GSAFE.

Throughout his career, Christopher has worked at the intersection of community, government, education, and philanthropy, helping organizations build stronger relationships, improve outcomes, and create lasting impact. His leadership is grounded in collaboration, civic engagement, and a commitment to ensuring communities have a meaningful voice in shaping the decisions that affect their lives. He lives in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, with his husband and their two children.

This Spring Farley Center staff conducted our first controlled burns!

Fire has long been a part of our local ecology and we've been eager to bring it back to our prairie and woodlands. Once the smoke clears we hope to see new oaks sprouting, more native species emerging, and just maybe... fewer invasives

Voces de la Frontera fundraiser is this Saturday 3/14

Our friends at Voces de la Frontera are hosting a fund raiser on 3/14 at 7pm at Arboretum Co-housing, 1137 Erin St. in Madison

There will be live music by the Louka Patenaude Latin Trio, Tony Castañeda, & John Christensen.

They're already half way to their goal of $80,000!
