How Board Members Can Help Raise More Money — Without Asking!
October 15, 2026 (time TBD)
Childcare Resources Education Center
Board members want to see their organization thrive — but many don’t realize how much they can contribute to fundraising without making a direct ask. This session shows them exactly how.

In this engaging, research‑based workshop, Erik J. Daubert, MBA, ACFRE will reveal the high‑impact, low‑pressure actions board members can take to strengthen donor relationships, open doors, elevate the organization’s visibility, and help secure more gifts… all while staying firmly within their comfort zone.

Drawing on 35+ years of experience in addition to research based methods and information, Erik will demystify what fundraising really requires from board members — and what it doesn’t. Participants will walk away with practical tools, renewed confidence, and a clear understanding of how they can meaningfully advance the mission without ever feeling like a fundraiser.

Erik’s leadership includes service on the AFP Global Board, Past Chair roles with the AFP Research Council, the ACFRE Board, and the AFP Growth in Giving Initiative along with many others. He has taught with Duke University, the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, St. Mary’s University, and numerous other universities. As a BoardSource‑certified nonprofit CEO, he has worked with thousands of board members and led hundreds - perhaps thousands - of workshops and retreats over the past decades. Erik has helped raise billions and billions of dollars working with incredible nonprofits, staff and volunteers around the world.

This session is ideal for board members and staff alike who want to make a difference, deepen their impact, and support fundraising in ways that feel natural, authentic, and mission‑aligned.

Congratulations, , for your new role at !
When asked about her move, she shared that she feels very grateful to have this new role.

More from Ashley:
My purpose in choosing a career in fundraising has always been rooted in service to others. That has guided every step of my path, and it’s what ultimately led me to Childcare Resources.
I was incredibly inspired by the work happening at CCR and the impact it has across Indian River County. What makes CCR so powerful is its comprehensive, three-pronged approach to supporting young children and families. Through its School, CCR directly serves the ALICE population, ensuring access to high-quality early education. Through the Wellness and Early Intervention Program, CCR identifies developmental needs early and connects children and families with critical support, setting a strong foundation for future success. And through its Outreach Program, trained Early Childhood Educator Coaches are working directly within early learning centers across the county, elevating the quality of care and education community-wide.
There is so much research that reinforces how critical this work is, children who enter Kindergarten ready are far more likely to read on grade level, graduate from high school, and experience stronger long-term health and economic outcomes.
I chose to step into the role of Director of Philanthropy at CCR because of the long-term, generational impact of this work. CCR isn’t just supporting children and families today, it’s helping to shape stronger futures for years to come. Being part of that kind of meaningful, community-wide impact is exactly why I do this work.

Congratulations! We are proud of you!

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are becoming a growing and integral part of philanthropy in the United States, with the number of individuals setting up DAFs and the value of funds continuing to increase. Many professional fundraisers are unclear about how they work and how they could benefit their organizations.

In this introductory session, we offer an overview of DAFs, including key data and trends, a new DAF Donor Relationship Management Cycle, and we explore opportunities and challenges related to DAFs. We close with a discussion of the evolving skill set required for fundraisers in a DAF influenced fundraising landscape. Participants will walk away with essential information to get them started on their fundraising journey with DAFs.
