Venice Lions Club

Venice Lions Club The Venice Lions Club was started in 1947. Our motto, We Serve, truly defines our passion to give back to our community.

Since then the Venice Lions have been active in the community through vision and hearing screenings, community projects and events. What do we do?
• Offer vision screening, hearing screening, eye examinations, glasses, hearing aids, and eye surgery for eligible residents in the Venice and Englewood areas.
• Low vision materials for Venice and Jacaranda libraries.
• Collect eyeglasses for recycling


• Sponsor Venice Lions Little league and volunteers in the concessions on opening day to allow parents to watch their children play!
• Sponsor three schools: Epiphany Catholic School, Laurel-Nokomis Middle School, and Venice elementary for the annual Lions Peace Poster contest
• Monthly clean up on the Venetian Waterway
• Sponsor for the Venice Halloween Parade in downtown Venice
• Assists Venice Main Street’s Easter egg hunt, the Eggstravaganza
• Hold a shark tooth hunting booth at the Shark’s Tooth Festival
• Our main fundraiser, the Mane event fashion show, funds grants for local groups, such as the Florida Lions Eye Bank, Venice Friends of the Library, Instride therapy, and Southeastern Guide dogs.
• Enjoy socials, such as an annual picnic, Christmas party, and an irish dinner.
• And more!!

🎉 **Welcome District Governor Bev Flynn!** 🦁💙

The Florida Lions of District 35 proudly welcome **District Governor Bev Flynn** as she begins her year of service and leadership.

Originally from Kentucky, Bev moved to Florida at the age of two and has called the Sunshine State home ever since. Long before officially becoming a Lion in 2006, she was already serving her community by helping provide eyeglasses to those in need through her optical business. That experience showed her the true impact of Lions service and inspired her to become a member of the Venice Lions Club.

For nearly two decades, DG Bev has faithfully served her club in almost every leadership role, including 19 years on the Board of Directors. Her dedication extends throughout the district as well, having served as District Hearing Foundation Chair, Cabinet Secretary, Cabinet Treasurer, Zone Chair, and Certified Guiding Lion, where she has helped clubs grow and achieve their goals.

Her outstanding commitment has earned numerous honors, including an International President’s Medal, International President’s Certificates of Appreciation, a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship, and the District 35-I Crusader Award.

Today, DG Bev is semi-retired and continues serving her community as the office administrator for a Venice ophthalmologist.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming District Governor Bev Flynn. We wish her a successful and inspiring Lions year as she leads with dedication, compassion, and a heart for service.
