The Long Walk Home The Long Walk Home is a veteran-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans and military families transition to civilian life.

We regularly provide beneficial workshops and classes, all at no charge to veterans. The Long Walk Home is dedicated to enhancing the dignity, honor and quality of life of our service men and women by providing transformative programs related to mental health, re-socialization, personal finance and career development. The organization was founded by Ron Zaleski, a Vietnam-era Marine. In 2010, Ron

walked across America barefoot to bring awareness to the fact that 22 Veterans commit su***de every day. To this day, Ron is still conducting walks to create awareness. This page was created to promote our transformative programs, create additional awareness, and spread joy to Veterans and military families.

Come join us for our new Ukulele program for veterans and military families! Happening TONIGHT from 5:00-6:30 PM at the The Firehouse on Venice Island.

No prior experience is needed. An instructor will be present, and we will provide a FREE ukulele to the first 10 people to register. The value of this program is over $200, which includes the cost of lessons and the instrument. All you need to pay is a $20 deposit, which will be refunded to you if you attend.
