🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Education at Van Vleck Elementary School! 🔥🚒

This past Friday, the Van Vleck Volunteer Fire Department and the Sargent Volunteer Fire Department had the honor of visiting Van Vleck Elementary School to educate students about fire prevention, fire safety, and how to protect themselves and their loved ones in an emergency.

Our Chief, Kevin Huron, always goes above and beyond when speaking to the students, making fire safety educational, exciting, and fun! The students and teachers had a great time learning about the tools and equipment our firefighters use. The kids also enjoyed getting to ride on the fire trucks and even had the opportunity to spray water from our fire hoses, including experiencing the water cannon on one of our trucks!

At the end of the day, being a volunteer firefighter is about much more than responding to fires, car accidents, and providing traffic control. It's about giving back to our community, educating our youth, and building relationships with the next generation. Teaching children how to stay safe and protect their families is just as important as the calls we answer.

The Van Vleck Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a huge thank-you to the Sargent Volunteer Fire Department for always stepping up and helping us make this annual event a success. We appreciate your continued support and dedication!

We are proud to serve our communities, and we look forward to continuing to make a difference, one student at a time!

Your local volunteer firefighters are here not only to protect our communities but also to educate, support, and inspire our youth!

Members of the Van Vleck VFD would like to express our gratitude for the support our community showed during our fundraiser yesterday! Every donation, every wave, every kind word all means more than you know!

We wouldn’t be able to keep our equipment in operation, purchase safety gear, and send fire fighters to training without these fundraisers. We are proud to be part of a community that shows up to support us like this! Thanks for having our backs - we’ll always have yours!
