My Heart Is Full This Afternoon!
I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to our Living Hope Church family!
The love, support, and heartfelt words shared this morning during our Pastor Appreciation service meant more to me than I can adequately express. I am truly humbled and grateful for each of you.
But what touched my heart even more was what happened before all of that.
The Holy Spirit was moving in our service this morning! We saw people come to the altars, hearts being touched, and people being prayed over. There was a genuine spirit of worship and a sense of God’s presence among His people.
And then, following that Spirit-filled worship, to hear our church family share what each of their pastors meant to them was something truly special.
As I reflected on this morning, one thing became abundantly clear to me:
God showed up at Living Hope this morning, and HE was the one doing the preaching!
Sometimes, as pastors, we spend hours preparing a message, studying Scripture, and asking God what He wants His people to hear. But there are mornings when God reminds us that this is HIS church, these are HIS people, and we are simply blessed to be part of what HE is doing.
Today was one of those mornings.
To our church family, thank you for loving your pastors, praying for us, encouraging us, and allowing us the privilege of serving alongside you. You have no idea how much your words and support mean.
A couple of scheduling notes:
I will be away next Sunday, October 18th, but we will pick back up with The King Speaks: The
Sermon on the Mount on Sunday, October 25th.
Also, there will be no live episode of The Shepherd’s Table tomorrow evening, Monday,
October 12th.
I love this church family, and I am excited about what God is doing at Living Hope!
To God be the glory for everything that happened this morning, and for everything that is still to come!

The Shepherd’s Table with Pastor Ryan
What Does It Mean That Jesus Fulfilled the Law? | Matthew 5:17–20
Jesus said, “I did not come to destroy the Law or the Prophets… but to fulfill.” But what exactly does that mean—and what does the Old Testament Law mean for Christians today?
This week on The Shepherd’s Table with Pastor Ryan, we’ll briefly revisit Sunday’s message, “A Righteousness That Goes Deeper,” from our The King Speaks series. Then we’ll slow down and dig into one important question: What did Jesus mean when He said He fulfilled the Law?
We’ll look at how the Law, sacrifices, priesthood, and the larger Old Testament story point us toward Christ—and why grace doesn’t lower God’s standard but transforms us from the inside out.

Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.” But what does that actually look like on Monday when we leave the church building and step back into everyday life?

Tonight on The Shepherd’s Table with Pastor Ryan, we're going deeper into Matthew 5:13–16 and this week's message from our The King Speaks series.

We'll talk about:

What Jesus meant when He called us salt
Can salt really lose its saltiness?
The danger of isolation vs. assimilation
How to have contact without compromise
Why Christians need both proximity and visibility
What it means to let your light shine without making it about yourself

Salt doesn't do much sitting in the shaker.

Sunday we gather around the Word. Monday we ask how we're going to live it.

What an incredible Grand Opening for the Living Hope Church Food Pantry & Clothes Closet! This past Saturday, September 26th, we had the privilege of serving more than 60 families —
totaling over 200 people from our community!
That’s more than numbers. That’s families. Neighbors. People. And that’s exactly why this
ministry exists.
A HUGE THANK YOU to every volunteer who gave their time, worked behind the scenes, packed bags, organized clothing, welcomed families, and helped make the day possible. You showed what it looks like to put love into action.
We also want to give a special thank-you to the River Valley Food Bank for partnering with us and helping provide the food that made this outreach possible. We are grateful for organizations willing to work alongside local churches to serve our communities.
And this is just the beginning!
