Who remembers this sweet boy who was in a rural Animal Control sleeping on concrete floors? Now that Gus has had some medical attention, and was able to heal at Patricia Whiffen's home for a few weeks, he is now headed to the Ranch! We can't wait to love on Gus and help him heal mentally and physically. We can't wait for you to get here Gus! ❤️

Having 2 dogs is better than having just one dog! Let us explain.

You have Built-In Entertainment:

Dogs are pack animals. Having a pair means they can wrestle, chase, and socialize together, which burns off excess energy.

Easier Separation Anxiety: If your dog gets stressed when you leave for work, a canine companion can provide comfort and reduce anxiety.

More Socialization: Dogs with a sibling are often better socialized and more confident when encountering other dogs in public.

Double the Love: You get twice the companionship, cuddles, and unique personalities in your home.

Mayah and Winston lost their mom several months ago. Since then, they have lived at the Ranch, and we can tell they really would love to be in a home with a forever family. Please message us to meet them! They are the sweetest dogs, and we want to fulfill their mom's wish of finding them a new, loving family. Second Chance Ranch will help their adopters with food and vetting.

Animals suffering and in need of help doesn't stop for holiday weekend; it's never ending and exhausting. The sheer number of requests we get to help older dogs can bring the strongest person to their knees. Unfortunately, we have limited funds, limited space, and limited help. It hurts to say no to a dog because of lack of space or not enough vet funds....it's the kind of hurt you can't get off of your mind. We have taken on so many medical cases lately, but when we were asked to help this sweet older girl, we couldn't say no. The pain she must be in. Everyone meet Scarlett....she will be leaving the rural AC Tuesday morning to be medically assessed by a vet. We have no
Idea what to expect, but we pray it's not too late. How wonderful would it be to give Scarlett a Second Chance at an amazing life. ❤️

A cold, concrete floor is no place for any dog, but especially for our older friends whose bodies are tired and joints a bit achy. We were asked to help this senior boy who found himself in a rural shelter. Our friend Patricia is temp fostering him right now, and he is so happy and content. Gus has a few medical issues we are addressing. We can't wait to see him a month from now when he has been wrapped in the love our volunteers will give him, and the care he needs to heal. Welcome Gus! We are in love with you already! ❤️
