We receive pleas like this every day; this one grabbed my heart. If you are looking for a young, sweet dog whose life you can change by saying yes, you will help get this boy off of the chain he's been living on for his entire life. Please take a moment to read. 🥲💔
Hello,
I am reaching out with an urgent plea for help for a 3-year-old dog named Bear. I am desperately trying to find a rescue organization willing to step in and give him the second chance at life that he deserves.
Bear is not a bad dog. He is a forgotten dog who desperately needs someone to care about what happens to him.
Bear has spent his life living on a farm. He is good with dogs, cats, farm animals, and children. Despite the life he has been given, he is still a sweet boy who craves human affection. He wants love, attention, and companionship just like any other dog. Sadly, those are the very things he is being deprived of.
I met Bear in person this past weekend, and what I witnessed broke my heart. He is currently chained outside 24 hours a day with inadequate shelter. He has been left to exist on the end of a chain, exposed to the elements and deprived of the companionship and care that every living animal deserves. His owner no longer wants anything to do with him, and Bear is now facing an uncertain future.
The situation is even more heartbreaking because his owner is frequently in and out of jail. During those periods, Bear is left chained outside to fend for himself, without anyone checking on him or ensuring that he has the care he needs. He is left completely dependent on circumstances and people who are not consistently there for him.
Most frightening of all, Bear is at risk of being shot. His life could be taken simply because no one has stepped forward to give him somewhere safe to go. I cannot stop thinking about what will happen to him if we cannot find help in time.
When I was with Bear, I was able to get him off his chain. For a little while, he was free to move around and receive affection. I saw the biggest smile on his face. That moment has stayed with me. Beneath the neglect and the heartbreaking circumstances is a dog who still wants to trust people, still wants affection, and still has so much love left to give.
Bear has spent three years of his life waiting for someone to make him a priority. He should not have to spend another day wondering whether anyone is coming for him.
I am asking from the bottom of my heart: Can your rescue please help Bear? I am willing to personally handle his transportation to your rescue or an approved foster placement. I will do the driving myself so transportation will not be an obstacle to getting Bear somewhere safe. All I need is for someone to give him a chance and a safe place to land.
Whether you can provide a foster placement, take him into your program, or connect me with another organization that can intervene, any help could make the difference between life and death for this boy.
I understand that rescues are overwhelmed and that space, funding, and foster homes are limited. I know you cannot save every animal in need. But I am begging you to please consider Bear. He is not asking for anything extraordinary. He just needs to be safe, to be cared for, and to finally know what it feels like to belong to someone who wants him.
Please do not let his story end on a chain.
I am willing to share photos, videos, and any additional information I have about Bear and his current circumstances. If your organization cannot take him, I would be incredibly grateful for referrals to any rescue, farm-dog sanctuary, or experienced foster who might be able to help.
