Valley Park Foster Closet The Valley Park Foster Closet serves children affected by or at risk of entering foster care.

The Valley Park Foster Closet equips children impacted by or at risk of foster care, and supports biological families working towards reunification or prevention, with the necessities and ongoing support they need to thrive, from crisis to permanency. Families caring for children meeting these criteria need to register with the foster closet and provide proof the children in their home are affecte

d by foster care in order to shop in our resource room or pick up items from us. Children can be currently in foster care, adopted/guardianship from foster care, reunified with family after foster care, kinship placed, or home on a safety plan. We also welcome families participating in temporary foster care programs such as Safe Families for Children and families referred by another agency showing they are at risk of foster care involvement. You may ask your child's case manager, the social worker from a social service agency working with your family, a school counselor, etc to send us a referral on your behalf. Case managers are always welcome to come shop for children as well but will need to complete the same process of registration. Please note, families may be asked to provide documentation each time they shop so please come prepared with paperwork or send a message with current paperwork the day you plan to shop. Please note, items received for the child belong to the child and must go with the child if they change placement or go home to a parent. Any misuse of foster closet items will result in no longer being able to utilize the free resources the foster closet provides. We are excited to serve your family and look forward to meeting you soon!

Valley Park Foster Closet Introduction

The Valley Park Foster Closet opened in January of 2018 to serve local foster/adopt families in need of clothing, shoes, baby gear and other items for children affected by the foster care system (foster/adopt/guardianship). Our closet is open for these families to come “shop” for what they need for their children. Please bring your placement paperwork (or other proof) for your child(ren) and you may take the items you need. When families are finished with these items they may donate them back to the foster closet or pass them along to another family in need. We pray that these items will be a blessing to your family.

We accept donations of gently used children’s clothing/items, shoes, diapers, wipes, formula, new socks & underwear, and non-expired, accident free baby gear as well. We do NOT accept toys, stuffed animals or books. Donation receipts for these items are available upon request.
