September is Library Card Sign Up Month and there is so much happening at your VC Library! September craft bags are ready for pick up, 1 per child please while they last. Story Times for infants and children through age 6 and not yet in Kindergarten have begun (Tues and Wed at 10:30) and Brick Clubs begin again on Thursdays from 4:30-5:30. Kids can design and color a book jacket or a library card to help decorate our story time room door. We are having a book drawing opportunity -- each time you visit, you may enter to win one of over 20 new books, one entry per person per visit per day. Our Fall 2026 "Falling Falling Falling" reading challenge has begun, and pop in to participate in our Guilty-Not Guilty game or visit our many critter friends supplied by Nancy A (currently residing on Terry's desk are 2 kinds of caterpillars, some harvester ants, and a ginormous praying mantis). We can't wait to see you at the Library to celebrate September!

We still have about 10 families who have not picked up their summer reading prize bags. Please come get them soon...you don't want to miss out on using your great coupon prizes before they expire and we need the space to start getting ready for the Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale!!

The Fall session of Story Times begins on September 1 & 2. Story Times are from 10:30 to approximately 11 AM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for infants and children through age 6 and not yet in Kindergarten. No registration is needed but we do require that parents/guardians/responsible adult person attend with their children.

The Fall session of Brick Clubs and Junior Brick Clubs begins on September 3. Brick Clubs are from 4:30-5:30 PM on Thursday afternoons. No registration is needed, but we do require that parent/guardian or a trusted person who can be in charge of your child if he/she is under the age of 8 be on site. Please do not bring outside bricks, toys or food to Brick Club.

Due to the close play of children at Story Times and Brick Club and the handling of bricks by many small hands, we would appreciate if there is any illness in your home, that you keep your child home.

We look forward to seeing everyone back for these fun activities!

Update - we added 4 more spots in the class to accommodate as many people as possible. All spots have been filled and we have started a waitlist. Please call us at 316-755-7350 x 1 to be added to the waitlist. If you signed up and CANNOT do the class please let us know so we can give the spots to others. We will try to work out another class later on!
