🚴 With warmer weather upon us, more bicyclists are out enjoying the roads and trails around Champaign County.

Please stay alert, give cyclists plenty of space, and take an extra moment before turning or changing lanes. A little awareness can go a long way in helping keep everyone safe.

Come on over to Union County! Pedal with Pete is a great training ride for Pelotonia!

The Pedal with Pete Central Ohio Event is on Saturday July 25, 2026. It includes the following events: Bike Ride - Standard, Bike Ride - Advocate, Bike Ride - Supporter, and Fun Walk, Ride and Roll.

One of our many trail partners is the Marion Tall Grass Trail. The Hot Tamale Bike Tour supports their trail. It is an excellent tour & mission to support!

TRAIL ALERT 5/19/26 @ 5p.m.

We are aware of a downed tree approximately 5 mi. South of SR 55. There is space to walk around it for now.

We will have volunteers clear this ASAP, most likely tomorrow, after the next round of storms come through overnight!

Yesterday, I picked up two boxes (60) of youth bike helmets in Columbus. These are given through a grant application each year by the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Association; one of our many partners!

Awesome safety program which they promote! Some new colors this year too!

We give every registered youth rider a new helmet @ our Fall bike tour & also hand out helmets @ our Spring Celebrate Trails Day. We could not do this without the great safety program through the Ohio Pediatric Assn.!

A BIG thanks to them!

UPDATE ON THE PROJECT BELOW, as of Wednesday, January 21st, it is not completed, due to weather and staffing issues. The county workers will try again tomorrow, Thursday, January 22nd and until completed.

Thanks for your patience as we perform this necessary annual trail maintenance!

TRAIL ALERT!

There will be seasonal trimming of dead and downed vegetation, as well as trimming or removing of any leaning trees along the south trail from SR 55 to County Line Rd.. This work should commence beginning on Wednesday, January 14th and should be completed by Friday, January 16th; weather permitting.

Please use caution when approaching the equipment from either direction! Be sure the operators see you prior to passing.
