Simon Kenton Pathfinders (Official) We are an all volunteer group who raise funds for building and maintaining the Simon Kenton Trail.

All funds raised by the Pathfinders are used for the expenses of current trail maintenance, new trail development, and creating an endowment for future trail maintenance. The trail provides long term economic benefits, protects natural resources, provides a safe alternate transportation route, and enhances the wellness and quality of life for Champaign County, OH residents.

Lots of storm damage in & around Urbana yesterday, including on the SKT! Our maintenance volunteers are on it but might take a couple days & some bigger equipment!

For now, trail is open but there are some places where you’ll need to walk bikes around.

MAINTENANCE ALERT for 6/5/26

There will be seasonal boom mowing along the SKT South trail, beginning on Friday, June 5th & until completed. This project is to contain invasive species along the trail.

Mowing will be between County Line Rd. & the SR 55 trail head.

The trail will remain open for users. Please use caution ⚠️ when passing the equipment!

🚴 With warmer weather upon us, more bicyclists are out enjoying the roads and trails around Champaign County.

Please stay alert, give cyclists plenty of space, and take an extra moment before turning or changing lanes. A little awareness can go a long way in helping keep everyone safe.

Let’s all do our part to share the road safely this spring and summer.

Come on over to Union County! Pedal with Pete is a great training ride for Pelotonia!

The Pedal with Pete Central Ohio Event is on Saturday July 25, 2026. It includes the following events: Bike Ride - Standard, Bike Ride - Advocate, Bike Ride - Supporter, and Fun Walk, Ride and Roll.

TRAIL ALERT 5/19/26 @ 5p.m.

We are aware of a downed tree approximately 5 mi. South of SR 55. There is space to walk around it for now.

We will have volunteers clear this ASAP, most likely tomorrow, after the next round of storms come through overnight!
