Melissa Cybulski gave a presentation at the museum Friday night about Johnny Appleseed's Revolutionary childhood! It was very fascinating and a lot of fun! The next day we had heirloom apple tasting!

Don't forget book lovers! Melissa Cybulski will be here at the museum this Friday and Saturday! Friday, at 6pm Melissa will give us a presentation on her findings of Johnny's lost childhood, as she is the historian at the Longmeadow Massachusetts Historical Society. There will be Q&Q, and we will have books to purchase, and she will sign them for you! Saturday will be fun filled as we celebrate Johnny's birthday with heirloom apple tasting and conversation and book signing with Melissa.

Some of us from the museum went to the Bicentennial Barn in McCammon Creek Park in Lewis Center to see Isaac Fitzgerald. Isaac wrote American Rambler, a story about his journey following the Johnny Appleseed trail. The story is laced with Johnny's story as well as his own. I spoke on behalf of the museum and our orchardist and board member, Chad Armentrout, presented Isaac with a tree that has been grafted from a tree that Appleseed planted himself! Patti Young, whose family has lived on the farm that Johnny planted the tree on, for generations, was there as well. We all had a great time!
