A new season is here. Fall reminds us that change is part of life, and sometimes, navigating change takes a little support.

Whether someone is building a new life in a new community, finding stability for their family, searching for a safe place to call home, or entering a new chapter later in life, Samaritas is there through seasons of transition.

As the leaves begin to change, we’re celebrating new beginnings, stronger communities, and the people who help one another move forward.

Happy first day of fall from Samaritas! 🍁

Shanah Tovah!

As Rosh Hashanah begins, Samaritas wishes a sweet and meaningful new year to our Jewish neighbors, colleagues, partners, and friends who are celebrating.

May this season of reflection and renewal bring hope for the year ahead, meaningful time with loved ones, and opportunities to begin again.

Wishing all who celebrate a happy, healthy, and peaceful new year.

Every day at Samaritas, we see how welcoming communities and opportunities give people the tools they need to build meaningful lives, contribute their talents, and strengthen the places they call home.

This Detroit Free Press article highlights the resilience of families who have overcome tremendous challenges and the impact of accessible support, health resources, and a chance to feel hope. https://bit.ly/4xsahZs

We see the power of neighbors, employers, schools, and community organizations working together to create a sense of belonging where newcomers can thrive. We are grateful to the individuals who shared their journeys and to everyone helping make Michigan a welcoming place to call home. Their stories remind us that hope, hard work, and the strength of community make us all stronger.

Today, Samaritas proudly honors Juneteenth — a day of reflection, resilience, and renewed commitment to equity.

On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom—marking a pivotal moment in our nation’s history. Juneteenth is both a celebration of liberation and a reminder of the work that remains.

At Samaritas, our mission calls us to serve with compassion, dignity, and respect for every individual. We are committed to fostering inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Today, we honor the strength, history, and contributions of those whose freedom was long delayed, reflect on our shared past, and recommit ourselves to advancing equity and justice in everything we do.

Together, we move forward—stronger and more united.

Refugees don't just find a new home. They help build stronger communities. They become neighbors, students, entrepreneurs, caregivers, and leaders. They bring diverse perspectives, talents, and traditions that enrich our workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods.

This month, we celebrate the contributions refugees make every day and the communities that welcome them.
