Our new building is taking shape!

A few of our staff and board members got a chance to walk through our new building in Lemont Furnace this week and see just how much has changed!

The parking lots and entrance have been paved, the siding is almost finished, drywall will be going up soon, and the best news is we’re still on schedule! We’re getting closer to opening these doors and putting this new building to work for our community by giving us the space and resources to serve more people and serve them better.

Pumpkin spice is back, and our ATF participants are taking that as a sign that fall can officially begin. They’ve been busy coloring and decorating the halls with pumpkins, apples, leaves and plenty of fall favorites.

Activities like these are just one part of the day at our Adult Training Facility, where participants spend time learning, creating, socializing and building skills together. It might still be August, but we’re ready for fall. If only the weather would catch up!

College students, as you head back to class, here’s something worth adding to your to-do list. Applications are open for the 2nd Annual Merlin Arc Fayette Scholarship!

If you’re pursuing a degree in a field that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, you could be eligible for a $2,000 scholarship award to help with the cost of your education.

We could all use a little Steelers pick-me-up today. Earlier this month, Michael, Eddie and Rocco chose a trip to Steelers Training Camp for one of their Home and Community outings!

They spent the day in Latrobe watching practice and taking in all the excitement of training camp. Not a bad way to spend a summer day!

Today is National Nonprofit Day!

At The Arc Fayette County, we're proud of the work we do every day to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. From the people we serve to our staff, families, volunteers and partners, there are a lot of people behind what happens here, and we're grateful for every one of them.

We're also proud to do this work in Fayette County.

There are nonprofits all across our county working every day to support our neighbors and make our community a better place to live. National Nonprofit Day is a good reminder of just how much of that work is happening right here at home.

This fall, Fayette County will have a chance to support it, thanks to The Community Foundation of Fayette County

Save the date for on November 5!

Fayette Gives is a one-day giving event where you can learn more about nonprofits throughout Fayette County and donate to the organizations and causes that matter most to you; including The Arc Fayette County.

We'll have plenty more to share as November gets closer. For now, mark your calendar for November 5 and help us celebrate all of the people and organizations doing good work right here in Fayette County.
