Who are the residents?

• Women, ordinarily age 30-70; exceptions

dependent on evaluation
• Those with limited financial resources or other assets
• Physically mobile and in relatively good health
• Dependent children are cared for elsewhere.
• Free of actively using drugs/alcohol
• Open minded and agreeable to living with unrelated women

What’s expected?

• A comprehensive interview process, including criminal background check
• Providing names/addresses of persons/groups as references
• Participation in signing a program agreement; evaluation after 30 days by both parties
• Willing to share a lifestyle within a supportive, spiritual environment.
• Have a job or be looking for a job or engaged in volunteer service

What’s the house like?

• A comfortable home with common areas—kitchen, living room, office and work space, 6 furnished bedrooms on 2nd floor, 2 complete bathrooms, powder room
• Basement laundry facilities; storage spaces
• Small back porch and a grassy section
• Landline for business calls only, a computer for resident use and Wi-Fi

What’s it like to live in community?

• A good mix of privacy and commonality
• Shared responsibilities for meal preparation/housekeeping duties
• Common gathering daily for the main meal
• Care and respect for everyone and for what’s held in common
• As we live and work together, we hope to develop into a self-governing unit. Will anyone help me adjust?

• Mary House Staff and two Sisters will be available to assist
• Local social service agencies as needed
• In house treatment goals and objectives

How will Mary House be supported?

• Each member contributes to the rent, utilities, food and items purchased for common use
• The contribution depends on each member’s ability
• Additional support will come from donations and grants and the wise stewardship of all members

Why does Mary House need financial donations? 💜

We are extremely fortunate to receive clothing, food, household items, and other generous donations from our community. Those gifts make an incredible difference. But it also takes financial resources to operate Mary House every day.

Financial gifts help support our staff, housing expenses, utilities, transportation, programming, and the many everyday needs involved in helping women move toward greater stability and independence.

That is why Fayette Gives on November 5, 2026 is so important to us.

Our goal is $70,000, and every gift moves us one step closer.

We had a great time attending the training on Wednesday!

Be on the lookout for more information about this year’s Day of Giving on November 5, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are incredibly grateful for the clothing, household items, and other material donations we receive throughout the year. Financial contributions are also essential because they help Mary House continue its mission of providing safe housing, stability, resources, and hope to women in need.

Every donation makes a meaningful difference! 💙

We are one week away from our next Fayette Gives Nonprofit training!💗💚

Each training session will cover the same content over the span of one (1) hour and will be held in-person at the CFFC office, located at 250 West Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401. Nonprofits do not need to register for the training sessions, though attendance will be tracked to confirm participation eligibility.

Today, we had the joy of celebrating Robin, our amazing Administrative Assistant, on her 3-year work anniversary at Mary House! Since joining our team on April 3, 2023, Robin has brought so much compassion, dedication, and care to our mission. We are truly blessed to have Robin and are so grateful for the heart she pours into Mary House each and every day.

To honor Robin and this special milestone, we are turning her anniversary into a little fundraiser. During the month of April, we are hoping to raise $3,000 to help us continue supporting and strengthening the mission of Mary House for years to come. What better way to celebrate Robin than by giving back to the place and purpose she works so hard to serve?
