Today was a great opportunity to see education making a difference right here in Fayette County, PA!

Kathi and Ashley from the Fayette Chamber of Commerce had the opportunity to tour Adelphoi Education Services, where Principal Susan Takach shared how their small class sizes, individualized learning goals, and dedicated staff help students build confidence, overcome challenges, and work toward success.

Through the Fayette Business Education Partnership, we recognize the importance of connecting education, workforce development, and community resources to help students prepare for their futures.

Thank you to Susan and the Adelphoi team for the warm welcome and for the important work you do for students in our community!

Our Biz Wiz Kids practiced skills they can use in business and beyond at last night’s club meeting! 🛍️

The group discussed what influences customers’ buying decisions and learned five steps to making a sale. Working in pairs, they created their own stores, designed and priced five paper products, and put them on display.

Their parents then became customers, giving the kids a chance to answer questions and practice helping someone find what they needed.

The kids did a fantastic job putting their creativity, communication and sales skills to work. We have some up-and-coming kidpreneurs on the way! 🌟

Fayette County Biz Wiz Kids is a partnership between the Fayette Business Education Partnership, Fayette Chamber of Commerce, Penn State Extension of Fayette County and Pennsylvania 4-H - Fayette County

Connecting schools and businesses opens doors for Fayette County’s future!

As the workforce arm of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, the Fayette Business Education Partnership brings educators, employers and community partners together to help students explore careers, build skills and discover new possibilities.

From the Mechanical Design & Workforce Challenge and National Civics Bee® to Fayette County Biz Wiz Kids Club and our partnership meetings, these connections help turn ideas into opportunities.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, at 9 a.m. at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, Eberly 103. Anyone with an interest in workforce development is encouraged to attend, including school administrators and counselors, members of the business community and workforce agencies.

Students must be Fayette County, PA residents and have a high school diploma or GED. Financial assistance may be available for those ages 18–24.

Future engineers in action!

Students from 12 school districts across four counties recently came together for the EQT Mechanical Design and Workforce Challenge Workshop Day! With 19 teams participating, students explored engineering careers and put their creativity, problem-solving skills and teamwork to work building lifter robots. EQT is proud to support hands-on learning opportunities like this through our partnership with the Fayette Business Education Partnership.

We can't wait to see their designs in action at Challenge Day on December 4 at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus !

Another great Fayette Business Education Partnership (FBEP) meeting today! We had 32 business, education, workforce, and community partners join us for an exciting conversation about new workforce opportunities in Fayette County.

A big thank you to Holly from Pittsburgh Gateways for joining us and introducing our partners to the new collaboration between Pittsburgh Gateways, the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, the Redstone Foundation, and the Fayette Business Education Partnership. This partnership will help bring new workforce training opportunities to Fayette County, PA and create additional pathways for individuals interested in careers in the skilled trades.

The Fayette Business Education Partnership is all about bringing our business and education communities together. These meetings give employers an opportunity to share their workforce needs, while educators learn more about the skills and opportunities available to their students. Just as importantly, they allow everyone at the table to make connections, share resources, and work together to strengthen Fayette County's future workforce.

Whether you're an employer, educator, workforce professional, or community organization, there is a place for you at the FBEP table! The more voices we have involved, the better we can connect education, training, and employment opportunities throughout our county.

What a great day of learning, teamwork, and engineering at the EQT Mechanical Design and Workforce Challenge Workshop Day! 🏗️

Today, students from participating school districts came together at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus to explore different types of engineering, learn more about careers in the field, and get their first hands-on experience building their robotic lift!

This workshop is just the beginning! Over the next several weeks, students will take what they learned today back to their classrooms as they prepare for Challenge Day in December.

A HUGE thank you to EQT for making this program possible, Fayette County CTI for building the towers for the schools to use to practice with before the challenge, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus for hosting us, and Dr. Gerald Angle from WVU Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources and Penn State Fayette once again facilitating the program and sharing his knowledge with our students.

We also appreciate the teachers, volunteers, and industry partners who help make this experience possible!

We can't wait to see what these teams come up with on Challenge Day! 💡
