This seal reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible nonprofit leadership. It means our supporters, donors, partners, and community members can easily see who we are, what we do, how we operate, and the impact we are working to create across the Smith Mountain Lake region.

As a young organization, this milestone matters deeply to us. We know trust is earned, and we are committed to building SML GIVES INC with openness, integrity, and a clear focus on serving our neighbors.

Seven pallets. Thousands of pounds. Countless meals.

Because of the generosity of our partners at Birdsong Peanuts, SML Gives Inc was able to secure and coordinate the distribution of 7 pallets of peanut butter across the Smith Mountain Lake region.

But here’s what matters most, this food is already moving into the community through the hands of organizations doing incredible work every single day.

Thank you to everyone who helped with our inaugural participation in the annual SML GIVES DAY! Together, we raised almost $400,000 for 50 area nonprofits and over $120,000 for SML Gives Inc!!!!

SML Gives Day 2026: Featured Organization
SML Gives Inc.

While the name may sound familiar, SML Gives Inc. is a unique nonprofit organization with a standalone mission: to ensure that no neighbor in the Smith Mountain Lake region goes to bed hungry.

We are excited to feature them as one of the 50 local nonprofits participating in SML Gives Day 2026!

Born from the heart of our community, SML Gives Inc. focuses on mobile food distribution, delivering fresh, nutritious groceries directly to homebound neighbors or those without reliable transportation in southwestern Franklin County and beyond.

Though they are a newer addition to our local nonprofit family, their vision is bold. Having launched their food delivery program in late 2025, they are already working toward opening a permanent Empowerment Center by December 2026.
This hub will provide not just food, but a pathway toward stability through a community kitchen, garden, and career readiness resources. For SML Gives Day, they have set a goal of $15,000 to fuel these vital programs.
Your gift helps turn compassion into action, ensuring that as our community grows, no one is left behind and every neighbor has a seat at the table.

Two generous benefactors have stepped forward with a powerful challenge that could turn $30,000 into $120,000 for neighbors in our community.

Here’s how it works:
If our community raises $30,000, A generous donor will MATCH that $30,000 → bringing the total to $60,000

Then a second benefactor will MATCH the entire $60,000 → final impact to $120,000.

That means every dollar given right now can create FOUR TIMES the impact.

$25 becomes $100
$100 becomes $400
$500 becomes $2,000

This funding will directly support food distribution, crisis stabilization, and critical resources for families across our region.
