Tayba Foundation "Freedom Through Education"
Over 12,000 Incarcerated Muslims Served. A group of dedicated Muslims have been teaching the incarcerated Muslims since 2002.

As their teaching efforts grew, the need to work as an organization became real and Tayba Foundation was founded in 2008.

ANNOUNCING Taught by Ustadh John Ropoulos of Adab Academy, students will study the great Mauritanian scholar Muhammad Mawlüd's didactic poem on birr al-walidayn, or righteousness towards parents. It covers the proper etiquette and Islamic legal rights that are due to parents by their children. ⁠

Yusuf AS had a kingdom, a family reunited after decades apart, and a childhood dream finally fulfilled in front of him.

His dua from the peak of all of it was: cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous.

Not for more of what surrounded him, just to finish in the right company. That is what years of a well, slavery, false accusation, and prison do to a heart that keeps directing everything toward Allah.

Zakariyya AS asked across a lifetime with certainty rooted in who he was asking, not in what the circumstances looked like.

There is no expiry date on a sincere dua.

His bones had weakened with age, and his wife had never been able to have children.

Before making his du'a, he called out to Allah: in all the years I have turned to You, You have never left me in wretchedness.

Then he asked for what seemed completely impossible. Allah gave him Yahya AS, a Prophet, and said هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ - it is easy for Me, because I created you before while you were nothing at all.

You are yourself the proof that starting from nothing is not a challenge for Him.

Three layers of darkness surrounded him: the night, the sea, and the belly of a whale.

He had left his people without permission from Allah, and he knew it; however, he still called out to the All-Hearing, All-Forgiving.

فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ. Then Allah said وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُنجِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ and كَذَٰلِكَ means in this same way, present tense, addressed to every believer who calls from any darkness.

Ayyub (AS) pleaded his case with Allah and left it to Allah to do whatever is best for him. The Quran records فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ , Allah removed the affliction completely, restored his family, and gave him more than he had before.

Ibrahim AS made a dua in a desert and walked away. The answer arrived in a way and on a timeline that had nothing to do with what he could see.

Ibrahim AS left his wife Hajar and their infant son in a valley with no water, no food, and no other people.

Before he turned to walk away he made a dua, and he never saw the Zamzam spring emerge or the city that grew around it or any of what that dua set in motion.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said أَنَا دَعْوَةُ أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ, I am the dua of my father Ibrahim, and every Muslim who has ever taken their shahadah is living inside the answer to a dua made in an empty desert thousands of years ago.
