UPDATE (11/8)
PG&E has determined that it will not proceed with plans today for a Public Safety Power Shutoff in portions of eight Northern California counties, as weather conditions did not warrant this safety measure.
We want to thank our customers for their understanding and for their actions in preparation of a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff: http://bit.ly/2SVpRtw

ADVISORY: CUSTOMERS URGED TO PREPARE FOR POTENTIAL PUBLIC SAFETY POWER SHUTOFF THURSDAY, NOV. 8.
In response to evolving weather and extreme fire danger, PG&E may proactively turn off power for safety to some customers in portions of following counties: Butte, Lake, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra and Yuba. We will only consider temporarily turning off power in the interest of safety, and as a last resort. PG&E could take the action of turning off the power for safety very early Thursday morning (Nov. 8). This could change due to conditions.
CUSTOMERS SHOULD IMMEDIATELY PREPARE FOR A POSSIBLE EXTENDED OUTAGE. It’s important for all customers to have an emergency plan to be prepared for any extended outages due to extreme weather or natural disasters. Depending on conditions or if any repairs are needed, outages (weather event plus restoration time) could last between 2 to 5 days. For planning purposes, we suggest customers served by lines that run through high fire-threat areas prepare for multiple-day outages.
Customers in these areas should take steps now to prepare their families, homes and businesses. We are asking customers to update their contact information at pge.com/mywildfirealerts so we can keep them informed. Plan for any medical needs (medications that may need to be refrigerated or medical devices that require power), store emergency water and food in portable containers (enough water and food to last a week), secure backup charging methods for phones and alternative charging methods such as portable battery packs for phones and other devices that require power, know how to open your garage door manually (practice opening your garage door using the manual release lever) and keep your gas tank full or your car charged.
We want to thank our customers in advance for their patience and understanding as we prepare to take this step for safety.
