🎓 Taylor Denham and Amy Cline spent the afternoon at the Ukiah High School College & Career Fair, helping students explore scholarship opportunities and dream about the future.

Thanks to local donors who have established scholarship funds, students across Mendocino County have access to resources that help turn educational goals into reality.

And there's more good news: the Community Foundation's scholarship application cycle opens December 1!

We can't wait to see where this year's scholarship applicants will go next. 💙

The Fort Bragg - Mendocino County Library will host the Day of the Dead Altar Hall, a welcoming gathering place to remember, honor, and celebrate the lives of those who have touched our hearts and are no longer with us. 🕯️

This space will feature a collection of personal altars created by members of our community. Each altar offers a personal and meaningful way to remember loved ones, share their stories, and keep their memories close. Everyone is invited to stop by, spend some time, and experience these beautiful tributes created with love and remembrance.

This project is funded in part by the Community Support Grant Program of the The Community Foundation of Mendocino County and Friends of Health on the Northern Mendocino Coast

What inspires someone to spend decades investing in their community?

For Monte and Kay Hill, the answer has always been simple: support the people, places, and organizations that make Mendocino County special.

Through decades of volunteer leadership, philanthropy, and civic engagement, the Hills have helped strengthen countless community institutions. Their generosity continues through the Monte and Kay Hill Family Fund, supporting nonprofits and causes that make our communities stronger.

As we celebrate Monte's recognition as the Community Foundation's newest Board Emeritus member, we're also honoring a family whose commitment to giving has helped shape Mendocino County for more than sixty years.
Read their story and discover the lasting impact of a lifetime of generosity. ❤️

This year, young philanthropists will also take a seat at the table, learning firsthand how charitable giving can strengthen our communities.

See how this grassroots movement has grown, why participants have directed nearly $400,000 to local causes, and how you can join the conversation at this fall's coastal and inland events.

When Suzanne Pletcher first arrived in the Ukiah Valley, she fell in love with the landscapes that make this region so special.

But she also saw an opportunity: more trails, more access, and more ways for people to connect with the places they cherish.

That vision became the foundation of a lasting philanthropic and family legacy focused on protecting open space and expanding public access throughout Mendocino County.🧡🩵
