TWOC HEALING PROJECT
Mission Statement – The mission of the TWOC Healing Project is to speak knowledge to power, and to combat the erasure of Trans lives, narratives, and most importantly trans contributions to society.

Our humanity should never be up for debate.🏳️‍⚧️💜

In this interview, Executive Director Toi Washington Reynolds speaks on trans human rights and what happens when society stops seeing trans people as human beings deserving of dignity, safety, freedom, and equal rights.

Before the politics, the headlines, or the debates we are human. And our humanity must remain at the center of every conversation about our rights.

See us. Hear us. Respect us. Protect our humanity.💜

Leadership is more than showing up for today it’s honoring those who came before us. 💜

In this conversation, Executive Director Toi Washington speaks on showing up for her trans ancestors, her family, and her trans sisters by living visibly and authentically. She carries the dreams of those who never got the opportunity to walk freely, live fully, or see the future they imagined.

We walk today because they paved the way. And we show up so the generations after us can walk even further.🏳️‍⚧️✨

Yesterday, we celebrated a leader who has dedicated his life to creating change, building community, and making sure Black LGBTQ+ voices are seen, heard, and valued. 💙✨

Congratulations to Quinton Reynolds Founder & Executive Director of Game Changing Men on being honored with the SOS Founder’s Award Southern AIDS Coalition at the Saving Ourselves Symposium. 🏆👏🏾

Q, your leadership, advocacy, and commitment to our communities do not go unnoticed. Through Game Changing Men, you have created spaces of support, education, healing, and empowerment for so many people and your impact continues to reach far beyond the room.

We are especially proud to celebrate someone who has also been a valued community partner to TWOC Healing Project From collaborating on community initiatives to showing up for our people, your work reflects what true community leadership looks like: building together, pouring back, and creating pathways for others to thrive.

This award is more than recognition it’s a reflection of the lives you’ve touched, the doors you’ve opened, and the change you continue to build from the ground up.

With love from the TWOC Healing Project

“Give us respect because we are human, and we give you respect” 🏳️‍⚧️

TWOC Community Liaison Elle Morton

Trans women are more than the negative stories, stereotypes, and headlines that too often shape how the world sees us. We are daughters, sisters, friends, leaders, professionals, creatives, caregivers, and community members.

At the heart of it, we’re human beings deserving of the same dignity, respect, and humanity we extend to others.

Respect should never have to be earned through proving our humanity. It should simply be given.💜🏳️‍⚧️

Today is Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. ❤️‍🩹

The South continues to carry a disproportionate burden of new HIV diagnoses in the United States, with Black and Hispanic communities being disproportionately impacted.

At TWOC Healing Project we know awareness is more than a conversation it’s about healing, education, access, prevention, and community care.

Today, we honor those we’ve lost, uplift those living with HIV, challenge the stigma that keeps people from seeking care, and continue advocating for equitable access to prevention, testing, treatment, and resources.

❤️ Know your status.
❤️ Get tested.
❤️ Protect yourself and your community.
❤️ Fight stigma.
❤️ Lead with compassion.

Representation is more than being seen it’s about who gets to define the story once we are seen.

Too often, when one trans person makes a mistake or is placed in the spotlight for something harmful, that moment becomes a reflection unfairly placed on an entire community. We are not a monolith. Our experiences, identities, careers, dreams, struggles, and contributions are as diverse as the people who make up our community.

So we have to ask ourselves: Who gets to define what trans representation looks like? And who gets to decide what our community represents?

Representation should not be dictated by our worst moments or by people outside of our community. It should be shaped by the fullness of who we are.

To our peers: What does representation mean to you, and who do you believe gets to set the narrative?

Let’s talk about it. 🏳️‍⚧️💜
