What an incredible past few days with one very special family!

At 10 Klicks Outdoors, we believe some of life’s best healing happens away from the noise of everyday life, surrounded by good people, fresh air, and a little coastal sunshine.

Thanks to some truly amazing friends who opened their hearts and their doors, this family got to experience a weekend they’ll never forget. ❤️

🏡 One generous family donated the use of their beautiful coastal home.

🚤 Another wonderful family donated their boat for the weekend.

And together, we got to watch something pretty incredible happen: a family laughing, reconnecting, making memories, and simply enjoying being together, both on and off the water.

Sometimes it’s not about the fishing, the boat, or even the beautiful place you’re staying. It’s about the moments in between. The laughter, the conversations, and the memories that will last long after the sunburn fades! 😂☀️

To everyone who helped make these past few days possible, THANK YOU! Your generosity didn’t just provide a place to stay or a boat to ride on. You gave a family something far more valuable: time together.

That’s what 10 Klicks Outdoors is all about. Good people helping good people, one adventure at a time. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 OCTOBER 3, 1993 — MOGADISHU, SOMALIA

33 years ago today, what was supposed to be a short mission turned into nearly 18 hours of hell.

American Rangers, Delta Force operators, Night Stalkers and fellow warriors fought block by block through the streets of Mogadishu.

Two Black Hawks went down.

Men ran toward the crash sites knowing exactly what they were walking into.

MSG Gary Gordon and SFC Randy Shughart volunteered to go in and protect a downed American pilot. They knew the odds. They went anyway. Both gave their lives and were posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

Today isn’t about a movie.

It’s about the real men.
The ones who fought.
The ones who carried their brothers.
The ones who didn’t come home.
And the families who have carried their names ever since.

We remember October 3–4, 1993.
We remember Mogadishu.
We remember the fallen.

Fresh air, good people, and a little bit of freedom.

10 Klicks Outdoors (10KO) is a nonprofit on a mission to help veterans, first responders, and their families reconnect through hands-on outdoor education programs in hunting, fishing, and conservation. 10KO helps participants build confidence, connection, and time together away from daily pressures.

These experiences are made possible through the generosity and support of businesses that continue to show up for our veterans. We’re incredibly grateful to Land Yacht Fishing Charters, Twisted Coastal RV, Team Hard Life, and all of the businesses and individuals who contribute their time, resources, and expertise to help make these opportunities possible. 🇺🇸
