Las Vegas brought the energy, and the 2026 NECA National Convention and Trade Show matched it! ⚡

From educational sessions and the latest industry innovations to opportunities to connect with contractors, chapter staff and industry partners, NECA National delivered another great event.

Highlights included hearing from Nick Saban during the Opening General Session and celebrating NECA’s 125th anniversary.

A special congratulations to District 10’s Academy of Electrical Contracting inductees Jamie Atkins, Michael Gilchrist, Stacy Wilson and Tom Nagy on this outstanding recognition!

Another successful NECA Convention is in the books, and we’re already looking forward to next year!

Congratulations to William with HeliService Powerline Solutions, our September “Your Best Shot” winner!

This photo captures William high above the ground, preparing for a wire pull by unclipping the existing static wire and placing it into dollies. At the time, he was waiting for a helicopter to deliver the next dolly as the crew prepared to replace the current wire with new fiber.

This month, anything goes! Send us any photo that represents life in the line trade. Jobsite views, crew photos, selfies, bucket trucks, power lines, throwbacks, sunrise shots or simply a photo you think is worth sharing, as long as it includes some connection to linework. We want to see it all!

Photos can be recent, from years ago or even something you have submitted before.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mike Borchardt, a valued leader and dear friend of the Southeastern Line Constructors Chapter.

Mike gave generously of his time and experience as a member of our Board of Directors and the LINECO Board of Trustees. He also supported apprenticeship and labor relations work throughout Florida. In every role, he brought sound judgment, kindness, and a sincere commitment to our contractors and workforce.

We will remember Mike for more than the positions he held. We will remember his friendship, his steady presence, and the respect he earned from everyone who worked with him. He will be deeply missed.

Please keep Sue, Khloe, and Mike’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

September 14–18 is Construction Su***de Prevention Week, an important reminder that protecting our workforce goes beyond the physical hazards we face on the job.

Check in on your coworkers. Know the warning signs. Take conversations about mental health seriously. And make sure the people around you know that asking for help is never something to be ashamed of.

Congratulations to Glen Sutherland, whose photo was selected as the winner of our August Line Life Photo Challenge!

Glen captured this photo in Santa Barbara, California, where the crew was changing out 69kV poles with 16kV distribution underbuild.

For this month’s “Hard Hats & Hot Days” theme, we felt like this photo was a great reminder that after a long, hot day on the line, sometimes you get rewarded with a pretty incredible view.
