The Born Educators Academy

The Born Educators Academy We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women to thrive economically, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically. Empowering.

We believe that when women are equipped with the right tools, resources, and support they soar. We are a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and families through education, health, economic resilience, and spiritual growth. Our programs include business start-up support, lay midwife and health trainings, trauma and resilience workshops, vocational skills, and micro-grants for women-led busines

ses. In partnership with community leaders in Liberia, Ghana, and beyond, we are building Women’s Empowerment Centers that provide food security, childcare, sustainable job skills, and holistic mentorship. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term solutions, we equip women to transform their families and create generational change.

🌍 Educating. Transforming.

Health equity matters deeply to me because I have lived and worked among both the privileged and the marginalized.

I have seen what happens when some have unlimited access to care, education, clinical research, and support while others are denied the very resources that could save or improve their lives.

I believe where a person is born, the color of their skin, or the size of their income should never determine their quality of life, their health outcomes, or how and when they die.

Connecting people to health resources is more than service for me — it is advocacy, dignity, justice, and humanity in action.

Everyone deserves access to information, prevention, care, and opportunities to live well.

Healing as Resistance: Reclaiming Black Women’s Bodies, Stories, and Wellness Through Community Care

What does healing truly look like for Black women?

Healing is more than self-care. It is reconnecting to ourselves after generations of survival, silence, stress, trauma, and carrying the weight of others.

Healing begins with being seen.
Being heard.
Being safe enough to tell the truth.

For generations, our communities practiced collective care on porches, around kitchen tables, in beauty salons, churches, and through the wisdom of aunties, elders, and community mothers. People were checked on, prayed over, fed, and reminded they were not alone.

Today, we must intentionally rebuild those spaces.

Storytelling heals. Community heals. Rest heals.

For Black women, healing is not simply self-care—it is reclamation, resistance, and restoration.

Some stories were never spoken… not because they didn’t matter, but because no one paused long enough to truly see her.

In our guided journaling session, we make space for the woman who wasn’t seen—her silence, her strength, her healing.

Because when her story is finally written… healing begins. ✨

Join us. It’s time to see yourself.

“Black women show up for everyone—every event, every need, every call. But when it comes to ourselves, we hesitate. It’s time to shift that. Show up for you. Your healing, your rest, your life.”

This has been sitting on my chest stifling my breathes. It is heavy! It's one of the reason why I chose Black Women & Girls.

Something has to shift.
We are witnessing too many Black women losing their lives at the hands of those who said they loved them.
Some of them were mothers. Some died with their children.

And the children left behind… will carry this for a lifetime.
This is not just individual tragedy.
This is a community crisis.
As Black women, we continue to navigate systems—and sometimes spaces—that do not fully value or protect us.

We see it in relationships.
We hear it in music.
We feel it in the way our bodies are objectified and our voices dismissed.
And what’s missing…
is the village.

The intergenerational circles.
The aunties, the elders, the protectors.
The spaces where women are seen, heard, and covered.
This didn’t start today.
There are layers—historical, generational, unhealed trauma—that we still don’t talk about enough.
But avoiding it won’t heal it.
So what do we do?
We build differently.
• We create safe spaces for women to speak without judgment
• We teach our daughters self-worth, boundaries, and discernment early
• We hold men accountable—and invite them into healing, not silence
• We challenge what we normalize in culture, media, and conversation
• We rebuild community—intentionally, intergenerationally, spiritually
We cannot wait for systems to save us.
We have to be part of the solution.
And to the men:
we need you in this work.
Not watching. Not silent.
Present. Accountable. Healing alongside us.
Because this is about all of us.
We deserve to live. Fully. Safely. Whole.
