The Endzone Club is a youth-focused nonprofit based here in Tupelo, Mississippi, using sports, mentorship, creativity, and leadership to help young people discover their potential and purpose.

While I wait for clearance to plan a baseball camp at Ballard Park, I wanted to share this.....

I had a moment realization, last week, that hit me in gut/reminding me what true community work is all about. Been pouring into the community over 20 years, without ever asking for a spotlight or recognition. We never really needed the attention—we were more comfortable building, organizing, connecting people, creating opportunities, and watching kids benefit from it. Honestly, it wasn’t until recently that people started realizing we were the ones behind so many of the great things happening through the Endzone Club. A lot of the players who have helped us coach, mentor, and pour into these kids are recognizable, but a lot of people simply didn’t know who we were—and I’ve always been okay with that.

Then I had a moment at my son Portland’s football practice that really caught me off guard. Three different grade levels practice together, and as I looked around, I started realizing just how many of these kids had been to one of our camps—some once, some multiple times. Then I started thinking about the high school and how many more kids have crossed paths with the Endzone Club over the years. Kids we’ve coached, encouraged, fed, mentored, and simply tried to pour something positive into. And then those same kids started smiling, waving, and telling Portland (this is his first year at Tupelo), “I know who your dad is!” That hit differently. After spending more than 20 years serving, you can become so focused on the next camp, the next kid, and the next need that you never stop to look around and realize just how many lives you’ve touched.

That moment was an eye-opening reminder that we’ve been impactful, and we’ve been blessed to touch a lot of lives. The work was never about being recognized; it was about making sure kids knew they were seen, valued, supported, and capable of becoming something greater. But every now and then, you get the opportunity to look around and realize the seeds you’ve been planting for years are actually growing. No awards, applause, or titles could mean more than that. 20-plus years of service. Countless kids. Countless memories. And a whole lot of gratitude. From Potential to Purpose. ❤️🏈⚾🏀

I may very well bring 4 - 5 pro baseball players to Tupelo (have 2 confirmed and more interested), in late October, for a hands on baseball camp for kids ages 6 - 18. Camp would possibly be for up to 50 kids....60 if we have your support.....3 hours on a Saturday....

We have 2 options - free camp, if we can get some sponsors.....
A low cost camp ($10), if we can fill th slots....talk to me in the comments below...

The Endzone Club is excited to welcome Major League pitcher DeMarcus Evans as our featured special guest for this week's 3rd Annual Baseball Camp!

DeMarcus brings firsthand experience from the highest level of baseball and is passionate about investing in the next generation of athletes. Campers will have the opportunity to learn pitching fundamentals, ask questions, hear his journey to the pros, and receive instruction from someone who has competed at the game's highest level.

This is more than a baseball camp—it's an opportunity for young athletes to be inspired, challenged, and encouraged by someone who has lived the dream.
