Families, remember that school starts Wednesday, August 19th! We’re excited to be back and to work with your students throughout the year.
If you didn’t get a chance to meet us at Back-to-School Night, it’s not too late to join United We Can! Students at Hale Middle School and East Central can also stop by the OSU room at their school to learn more about the program.

Week 3 marked the end of an unforgettable summer program, and what a way to finish!
We kicked off the week at the Tulsa Zoo ... and the weather had other plans. While the rain cut our visit a little short, our students didn't let it dampen their spirits. They made the most of the day by exploring, asking questions, and enjoying time together.
The next day, they visited Mother Road Market to learn how passions can become businesses, toured the Test Kitchen, and decorated their own donuts thanks to Super Secret Donuts Tulsa. They also explored the Woody Guthrie Center and Bob Dylan Center, discovering how music can bring people together and inspire change.
To wrap up the program, students toured Tulsa Community College Northeast Campus, where they learned about college pathways, technical careers, and opportunities to earn college credit while still in high school.
We celebrated an amazing three weeks of learning and growth with one final trip to the movies.
Watching our students build confidence, try new experiences, and begin imagining their futures has been the best part of this summer. Thank you to everyone and especially the families who helped make it possible!

Week 2 Recap! ☀️
This week gave our students the chance to start thinking about what their future could look like.
We spent the day at Oklahoma State University, where students toured campus, explored the engineering and business buildings, visited the arena and performing arts center, and heard from current college students about what college is really like. They also participated in a financial simulation that challenged them to make real-life budgeting decisions.
Students also visited the Tulsa Health Department to learn about careers they may not have known existed. From nutrition and school health to epidemiology and other public health careers, they got a behind-the-scenes look at the many ways people work to keep our communities healthy. We wrapped up the day with a game of Lotería and a few prizes!
To finish the week, students traveled to OSU Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, where they explored hands-on career paths like engineering, electrical work, agriculture, graphic design, and other skilled trades.
Every trip this week gave students the chance to ask questions, try something new, and imagine where their own path could take them. That's what summer is all about. 💙

Here’s what happened during the first week of UWC Summer Program!
Students explored downtown Tulsa through a scavenger hunt, visited the library, and learned about mental health, stress management, and healthy choices from the Elevate Project
They also attended a finance and career exploration event hosted by the Tulsa Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, completed a financial simulation led by Tinker Federal Credit Union, met professionals from different career fields, and competed in an AI product pitch challenge.
To end the week, students learned about agriculture at R&G Family Grocers by harvesting and planting on the farm before heading to WeStreet Ice Center to learn about ice skating and try it out for themselves!
A great first week full of learning, teamwork, new experiences, and fun. Stick around to see what’s next! ☀️
