Matthew 25 Food Pantry, a 501(c)3, located in Truth or Consequences, NM serves all of Sierra County New Mexico. Matthew 25 Food Pantry is a non-profit equal opportunity, all-volunteer organization, established to help eradicate hunger in Sierra County New Mexico. We are supported solely by contributions from our community through private donations or through grants awarded to us. Matthew 25 has provided food to the underprivileged and impoverished in Sierra County for over 15 years. Approximately 75% of food distribution in Sierra County is for residents of the City of Truth or Consequences while 25% are residents in rural areas of the County. Annually the average of over 3,000 baskets feeds 6,200 people. We average over 700 people per month with each person receiving over 30 pounds of meat, dairy, bread, canned goods, and fresh produce with each weekly visit. Our population shows that nearly 65% are Seniors on fixed incomes. Families out of work or in hardship receive the help they need. Hunger is real.
