Dear Sierra County,

I hope this message finds you well. Today, I am writing with a heart full of gratitude and appreciation for the incredible support, encouragement, and positivity that you continue to bring to our community.

To the young adults among us, you are the heart of our future, and your energy, resilience, and creativity inspire us daily. Whether through your ideas, leadership, or the simple acts of kindness you display, you remind us of the strength and potential we all share.

To the broader community, your unwavering commitment to uplifting one another and fostering an environment of inclusion and respect has made all the difference. You’ve shown us that a community thrives not just on shared spaces, but on shared values and mutual care.

Together, we have created something truly special—a place where everyone feels seen, supported, and encouraged to be their best selves. For this, I am deeply grateful.

Let us continue to stand by one another, celebrate our successes, and lift each other through the challenges. Thank you for being such a remarkable community and for being the foundation of hope and inspiration for so many.

With heartfelt thanks,

Melanie Feldkamp

GIVING THANKS: Members of the Sierra County Business Center-Training Division (SCBC) team volunteered their assistance at a Thanksgiving luncheon on Nov. 28 sponsored by New Horizons Counseling Center, LLC — a meal made possible with generous donations from several local businesses — at Moose Lodge 2050 in Truth or Consequences. Torie Cunnington, a high school sophomore enrolled in our training program (at left), and SCBC board member Crystal Archuleta helped make the luncheon a hearty success. We are proud to be contributing to our community, which continually inspires us. Happy Holidays, everyone!
