Independence Place of Alabama Recreation / Leisure Program for adults with exceptional needs, providing an opportunity for social connections and community involvement.

Through the use of sports, games, music / dance activities, arts-and-crafts, horticulture, and community outings, we will strive to help our clients achieve a higher level of confidence through their participation and success in community life. The activities that clients will engage in are fun, but the ultimate goal of any sport, craft, activity, or community outing is to increase the client’s so

cial skills and cognitive skills, thus enabling them to attain their greatest level of independence within their families, assisted living setting, employment setting, and community/civic involvement.
