Good morning, rescue friends and followers. While the rescue is no longer in operation, I (Kerry/Founder) need your help, desperately. I am in the process of losing my home and I have several adopable kitties who need permanent placement, ASAP. I’ll be posting them individually and would greatly appreciate you sharing them. This is Thimble! He’s a domestic medium hair fella with a bushy tail and clementine eyes. He’s 4.5 yrs old and neutered. Thimble loves people and other kitties and gets along fine with dogs! Please share 🧡

Please read! We have a huge update from our previous post! In case you missed it, Iron City Rescue is shutting its doors. We still had 4 dogs in our possession that needed a rescue to take them in. We are so excited and thankful to All The Dogs for stepping up! Please go give them a follow!
A lot of folks have reached out asking how they can help. Unfortunately, due to lack of funds, some of the dogs are overdue for vetting. We are very humbly asking for donations to be made to All The Dogs to go towards this necessary vetting.
We thank you for your continued support over the years and hope now that support can be transferred to who have opened their doors to us when we needed help most! 🐾💜

After careful consideration, Iron City Rescue is officially closing down. That being said, we desperately need help from another rescue(s) with the three dogs we still have in our possession. Tuna, Reba, and Jake. They all have dedicated foster homes, so all they will need is vetting and promotion by said rescue. This is a heartbreaking decision as we were so proud of what we had accomplished over the past three years. Please engage with and share this post. We need other rescues to see it.
And if you have adopted from us in the past, and anything goes wrong with your pet, please know you can reach out to me (Natalie) and I will always do everything in my power to help. I’ll still be very active in the rescue community and will always be here for you and your ICR alumni.

This is Jake! We call Jake a gentle giant because even though he is a big, strong dog, he definitely thinks he is a lap dog who wants to cuddle! While Jake does enjoy hanging out in the backyard, he LOVES spending his day (and night) lounging and sleeping in bed. He gets along with his doggo foster brother really well and is very playful. He is ALWAYS up for a game of tug or chase. Jake also loves to go on his morning walk and is currently learning leash manners! He is a little timid around men but will warm up! Jake is available to adopt and is so deserving of his forever home! Please reach out if you’re interested, and be sure to share this cutie! 🥰

We are SO so so happy to announce that Teddy was adopted! This sweet old boy was found dumped in Homewood, but now he’s living his best life! He’s gonna be spoiled rotten by his new mommy for the rest of his days. ❤️

Roxie (right) is looking for her forever family. She’s a 5 yr old Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix. She was an owner surrender at one of our clinics, along with her little poodle friend, who’s since been adopted. Roxie would love to get busted out of the kennel and land in your home. Sweet boy Teddy is still waiting for someone to adopt him! 🥺
Teddy is about 8 years old and has a heart murmur that will keep him on medication for the rest of his life.
However, he is still so full of life! He loves to cuddle and will always greet you with lots of kisses and excitement. He’s house and crate trained, neutered, up to date on shots, and would love to come home with you! He’s also got the softest downy fur. ☺️ Adopting a senior dog is one of the most rewarding things you can do. They’ll love you like no other. ❤️

Update on Teddy! 🐻
Today we went to the vet and learned that he is about 8 years old and has a significant heart murmur. Whoever adopts him will have to keep him on heart meds for the rest of his life.
That being said, he’s a very happy and lively dog! Applications are open to foster/adopt him. He IS neutered and now up to date on shots, so he is ready to be adopted!
