IMBA's May membership drive comes to a close in a couple days and we wanted to highlight some ways IMBA supports dedicated trail stewards, mountain bikers, and community leaders and the positive outcomes they’re achieving on their journeys to better places to ride together:

✨ Utilizing IMBA education resources and workshops as a cheat code to get more done, sooner
✨ Protecting public lands together through collective advocacy and policy efforts
✨Carrying out research like the Economic Benefits of Mountain Biking, which illustrates the employment and economic impacts of mountain biking
✨Tapping into grant opportunities to kickstart trail systems that benefit communities, NICA teams, and local residents

Take a moment to support these efforts and show that you’re Leading with Trails, too: https://www.imba.com/join

FL #2 is cancelled
We hope to see everyone in two weeks at JB. Although TMBA narrowly avoided flooding during last week’s record breaking rains, the tread is far too wet and the predicted 0.5-1” of rain tomorrow just slams the door on the event.

Great trail (maintenance, conditions, and course setup), great volunteers, and great riders came out for the first FastLaps of 2026 at TMBA! Shoutout to those who tried FastLaps for the first time or we haven't seen in a while (the Straughn's who are usually too busy recovering from fixing up TMBA, the Blystone Clan, K&K, Chris Vandergriff, Corey Knight, our local True North Cycling Team who showed up in numbers). A special shoutout to Zack Haney and Jules Morrison who both said this was their first time and both finished strong!

Couple of small issues: starting in 2025 (last year), issued number plates are now 'permanent' - first plate was no charge, but if you don't have yours from last season, replacements are $5 (the extra durable plates are more expensive & labor intensive); alternatively you can welcome to pick from available plate numbers for a $5 donation (at check-in).

We had several attempt to check-in late. We will try to accommodate everyone if we can, but if you do miss check-in (it's always 5:30-6:15), we need to switch our volunteers over to getting FastLaps underway to make our 6:30 start time (trying to do a better job of that this year). If you know you are going to be running late (or just want to skip check-in), you are welcome to email [email protected] before noon the day of FastLaps and request 'precheck' (you may show up as DNS if you check-in and do not start; also please make sure your step 0 waiver info is correct to facilitate smooth check-in).

Keep in mind that we are not doing rainchecks this year (sticking with 12 scheduled FastLaps in 2026 - it really clogged up everyone's calendar when we had 22 scheduled FastLaps dates due to rainchecks & attempted makeup FastLaps that almost all got rained out last year!).

Hope to see you in two weeks at TMBA for FastLaps #2! If you have suggestions for improvements or want to help out, feel free to reach out to [email protected]

MVMBA is thrilled to announce Cyclical Nature Bicycles is sponsering our 2026 FastLaps season! All 12 scheduled FastLaps are free for MVMBA members and thanks to a new insurance policy, non-members can now pay for individual FastLaps.

Members start with step 0 to verify your membership and complete your annual activity waiver online: https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=420001
Once members complete step 0, they can sign up for any of the 12 FastLaps (https://www.webscorer.com/mvmba?pg=register) and as long as they select yes for member and verify their step 0 email address, they should have $0 registration fees!

Non members can now go directly to invidual FastLaps signups https://www.webscorer.com/mvmba?pg=register to register for any of our scheduled FastLaps. Non members will have to complete the two page activity waiver in-person at check-in for each event. Ages 18 and under remain free (do require parent or guardian signature on the waiver).

Our first FastLaps is scheduled for Wednesday, 13 May at TMBA:
