MVMBA enables great trail experiences for mountain bikers in the Greater Dayton area. We advocate for bicycling for fun, fitness, and transportation. Join us!

The 2026 John Bryan Boo Ride! This event started in 2020 and has continued to grow, as seen by the new decorations. Thank you to all the volunteers who make this event happen, donations that helped us up our "fun factor", our chili cook off participants, who feed us very well. Thank you Young's Jersey Dairy for donating the Family Fun Passes for our raffle and Texas Roadhouse for the gift basket for our chili cook off winner. Big day tomorrow at John Bryan State Park Mountain Bike Trails. BOO RIDE and TRAIL WORK.
We have a call out for volunteers. We are finishing up trail improvements and need a lot of hands to complete the project. Drive past the day lodge and look for the trail crew vehicles. Easy work to crazy hard work, something for everyone. Planning to ride tomorrow, bring a change of clothes and pitch in.

The mountain bike parking lot at John Bryan State Park will be closed today, Saturday 10/24 until 6:00 pm. Use the Orton lot or the Storybook lot.

The MVMBA trail crew need your help this weekend. Simple things like moving sticks and honeysuckle to moving and placing dirt. Learn how trails are built and how we are improving the John Bryan State Park Mountain Bike Trails. It is easy to help on your time. Drive toward the Orton lot and spot the MVMBA flag. Friday, Saturday, Sunday
9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Put in 10 hours and you are in line for an MVMBA trail crew shirt! October 23-25.

We are very excited about the Boo Ride Weekend at John Bryan State Park Mountain Bike Trails on October 23-25. Something for everyone to volunteer or enjoy, or both!
*Trail improvements will be going on Friday - Sunday. Drive past the day lodge toward the Orton trailhead. Look for the MVMBA flag. We will be moving dirt, removing a boardwalk and replacing it with a more sustainable option.
*Trail decorating for the Boo Ride will take place on Saturday; noon to 4:00 and Sunday; 10:00 - 2:00. Always fun adorning the trails with scares! Meet at the gazebo.
*Trunk or Treat, sponsored by John Bryan State Park, is from 4:00- 6:00. If you plan to bring a Trunk, arrive by 3:30 and park by the gazebo. All of the friends groups will be there, including Orienteering, Rock Climbing and the Astronomical groups, with some surprise groups thrown in! Bring your kids for some Treats and learn more about what John Bryan has to offer.
*Night Ride! Meet at the Gazebo for a 6:30 start time. Lights are needed, recommended two, one helmet and one on bars. The Abracadabra trail will be decorated, with some fun scary night displays, so choose your ride adventure. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
*Sunday BOO RIDE: 2:00 start for the kid friendly group ride. All young children must be accompanied by an adult. We need leaders and sweepers to volunteer. We were able to add some fun new surprises this year thanks to a donation specific to amp up the fun! If you missed out on ordering your Boo Ride shirt, designed by local artist Pete Hrinko, the store will reopen to order that weekend. We will also have signed posters for a $10+ donation.
*Sunday Picnic, Potluck, and Chili Cook Off Social: 3:00-5:00!
Need we say more? Okay, we will. Prize for the best chili. MVMBA will provide hotdogs and brats. Potluck means bring something to share. It could be your famous potato salad, a bag of chips, sweets, or just your smile. Let's have fun!
*Always looking for help to takedown the decorations after 5:00. Many will stay up through Halloween, but some need to come down.

Call out for volunteers tomorrow (Friday 10/16) at John Bryan State Park Mountain Bike Trails. The trail crew will be out at 9:00 AM clearing the new lines for the reroutes out near the Orton parking lot. Stop by to help or to inquire about the October Trail Work Weekend October 23-25.
