Metro Detroit Young Professionals Kiwanis

Join other young professionals serving the community. Check out our upcoming service projects, socials and meetings on our website. Meetings are less formal.

The vision behind this organization is to give young people throughout all of Metro Detroit a place to come for service. As young professionals, we are eager to volunteer, but often lack the time to find and organize meaningful service work. The Metro Detroit Young Professionals Club alleviates this stress. It also eliminates many of the pain points that prevent a young person from joining a tradi

tional Kiwanis Club. We set our meeting times to be in the evenings so that members do not need to miss work for a meeting. Dues structures are kept to a minimum. We also place a heavier emphasis on hands on service work and socials then on standard meetings, allowing us to do more in the community and ultimately have more fun. This morning, MDYPK members volunteered at Focus: HOPE, helping pack 913 food boxes for seniors across Southeast Michigan.

Our members had a great time volunteering at anityoc ReStore yesterday! 🛠️

The team spent the day helping behind the scenes by breaking down furniture, performing quality checks on paint sales, repricing merchandise, and organizing jewelry. Every task helps support Habitat's mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing.

April is National Volunteer Month, and we’re proud to spotlight the impact of the volunteers of Metro Detroit Young Professionals Kiwanis!

Over the past year, our members have contributed more than 250 hours of service, partnering with 15+ local organizations to support and strengthen communities across Metro Detroit. Their dedication brings the mission of Kiwanis International to life in a powerful, hands-on way.

MDYPK members volunteered at the Detroit Wine Organization’s Wine of the World event last weekend. It was a well-run event supporting The Kids Table and Miracle League of Plymouth.

Yesterday, our members spent time making sandwiches for bagged lunches at . Cass Community Social Services helps address poverty in Detroit by providing food, housing, and essential services to those who need it most. We appreciate the chance to support their mission and give back together.

We were proud to once again support the Mittens for Detroit Big Sort this year! In the weeks leading up to the event, members made mittens, then came together at the event to help sort 822 pairs of gloves for distribution across Detroit.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Squares fundraiser, MDYPK was able to adopt a local family this holiday season. This past week, our members shopped for gifts and wrapped them together at our annual holiday party. We’re grateful for the support that helped make this possible and proud to give back to our community.
