Bosnian American Cultural Center “Behar” (Blossom) is a non-profit organization registered with the State of Michigan in 2000. Our goal is preservation of traditions and culture of the Bosnian people while serving as a link between young Bosnians in the Metro Detroit area and elsewhere in the United States. Our wish is also to accurately and engagingly present the values of the Bosnian cultural he

ritage to the American public. “Behar” always finds its way to connect with our native country of Bosnia and Herzegovina through different humanitarian actions and scholarships for children in need. Our organization is made up of several sections focusing on traditional folk dances, music, acting, as well as varieties of ways to teach Bosnian language and literature to our youngest children. “Behar” has between 60-80 active members whose ages range from 4 to 19 years.

Our kids have been diligently preparing for their June 6th concert, while also making time to participate in other performances throughout Metro Detroit. 🌸

Group 6 represnted us at Rochester Hills Government Youth Council Cultural Fair. 🌸

Group 7 represented us at Spring Fest, hosted by KUD Tanec.

Group 4 performed at Grissom Middle School's Cultural Show.

This past weekend in Des Moines, Iowa was one to remember! 🌟

We had the honor of participating in a beautiful folklor festival where we proudly showcased our dances, shared our traditions, made new friendships, and reconnected with so many familiar faces. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

A heartfelt thank you to KUD Dukat for being such incredible hosts and creating a weekend filled with warmth, organization, and unforgettable memories. ❤️

We are beyond grateful to all of our parents, supporters, and everyone who played a role—big or small—in making this trip such a success. Your support means everything to us.

And of course, a huge shoutout to our amazing performers—our children—whose hard work, dedication, and love for folklore continue to inspire us. Youth is meant to be lived, and they truly live it through song and dance. 🌸
