Bosnian American Cultural Center “Behar” (Blossom) is a non-profit organization registered with the State of Michigan in 2000. Our goal is preservation of traditions and culture of the Bosnian people while serving as a link between young Bosnians in the Metro Detroit area and elsewhere in the United States. Our wish is also to accurately and engagingly present the values of the Bosnian cultural he

ritage to the American public. “Behar” always finds its way to connect with our native country of Bosnia and Herzegovina through different humanitarian actions and scholarships for children in need. Our organization is made up of several sections focusing on traditional folk dances, music, acting, as well as varieties of ways to teach Bosnian language and literature to our youngest children. “Behar” has between 60-80 active members whose ages range from 4 to 19 years.

Join the KUD Behar Detroit family for an unforgettable year of tradition, friendship, culture, and dance! 💃🕺

Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, we can’t wait to welcome you to our community.

📅 Registration: June 17 – July 15, 2026
👧🧒 Open to youth in Kindergarten through 12th Grade
⚠️ This is the only registration period for the 2026–2027 season.

🌸Završni koncert 27. sezone KUD Behar i Sretno Zmajevi 🇧🇦

Prošle subote KUD Behar je svečano završio svoju 27. sezonu rada izuzetno uspješnim proljetnim koncertom. Večer je bila ispunjena emocijama, posebno jer smo se oprostili od osam naših maturanata.

Bila je prava radost gledati djecu od 5 do 18 godina, u svih osam grupa, kako uživaju na sceni — kako bodre jedni druge, kako ukradu trenutak da se nasmiješe prijateljima, a oni najmlađi da mahnu roditeljima. Sa ponosom i dostojanstvom izvodili su koreografije iz naše prelijepe Bosne i Hercegovine.

💛 Zahvale svima koji su doprinijeli

Ogromno hvala svima koji su na bilo koji način učestvovali u pripremi i realizaciji ovog koncerta:

Našoj djeci — na marljivosti, trudu i ljubavi koju ulažu iz sedmice u sedmicu.

Roditeljima — na redovnom dolasku na probe i nepokolebljivoj podršci.

Koreografima — na ogromnom trudu, strpljenju i posvećenosti da svaka koreografija zablista.

Rukovodiocima — koji neumorno rade iza scene kako bi sve funkcionisalo besprijekorno.

Azi i Seji Čamo — za predivan segment Bosanske škole sa našim najmlađim članovima.

Posebne zahvale idu i našim velikim prijateljima:

Nerminu Selmanoviću, Mirzi Sorguću i Harisu Kajtazoviću — koji su, po ko zna koji put, donirali svoje vrijeme i kompletnu opremu za ozvučenje i rasvjetu.

Saneli i Sabahudinu Forić (Sunny Cleaning Services LLC) — za donirano čišćenje Balkanskog centra.

Fahri i Jasminki Muminović (Promo Print Shop) — za donirano platno za slikanje.

Dženeti Balic i ekipi mama — koje su prostor za fotografisanje pretvorile u najljepše bosansko dvorište.

I jedno najveće hvala roditeljima koji su došli dan ranije da postave stolove, stolice i svu potrebnu opremu, a zatim ostali i nakon koncerta da sve počiste.
Vi ste srce Behara. ❤️

🇧🇦 Sretno Reprezentacijo - Sretno Zmajevi!!! 🇧🇦

Završna tačka koncerta bila je posvećena podršci našoj Bosanskohercegovačkoj reprezentaciji na Svjetskom prvenstvu. Danas našim zmajevima želimo pobjedu u Torontu — da osjete ljubav i podršku djece iz Kulturno‑umjetničkog društva Behar.
