Program Assistant
Location: Troy Rec Before and After School Program, 11 N Market St., Troy, OH

The Rec is seeking a dependable, caring, and organized Program Assistant to support our before- and after-school program. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with elementary-aged children and can thrive in a dynamic environment.
Work Schedule:
● Monday – Friday during the school year. The Troy Rec follows the Troy City Schools Calendar
● Morning Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
● Afternoon Shift: 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
● No weekends, school holidays, or summers
Responsibilities:
● Supervise elementary school-age children in a safe and positive environment.
● Assist with daily attendance and program operations.
● Distribute snacks and drinks to students.
● Help resolve conflicts between students using positive behavior management techniques.
● Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and students.
● Perform general administrative and organizational duties as assigned.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program environment.
Qualifications
● Experience working with elementary school-age children is preferred.
● Strong communication and organizational skills.
● Ability to remain calm and professional when managing conflicts.
● Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Must be flexible with scheduling to accommodate school delays, early dismissals, and special events that may require adjusted work hours.
●Candidate must be 18 years or older and able to secure all required background checks.

● Required Training paid for by Troy Rec includes CPR ( First for children and infants) Recognition and Reporting of Child Abuse, ODJFS Child Care Orientation training as prescribed by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, and ongoing continuing education as required.
